Title: Christmas (or whatever Holiday) lists
Post by: BP on November 16, 2005, 08:56:37 PM
Maybe it's a bit early to post this, but here's mine.
1. Either Wario Ware: Touched! or Kirby Canvas Curse
2. GBA Video: Shrek or Shrek 2
3. A pair of good socks (seriously, my socks all suck)
4. A Squish Pillow like the ones at the Walgreens entrance
5. A computer microphone
6. A copy of the Photoshop disc
My mom's so happy I'm not asking for a games system this year.

Now that is a long list.  As for me, I don't need that much.  But it would be nice to have:

-  The Wind Waker.  My other game kind of disappeared...? ???-
-  Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire for Gamecube
-  The Hobbit.  I rented that game, loved it, then had to return it and haven't played it since.
-  The Polar Express DVD...Okay, okay...I saw the movie in theatres...and I really liked it.  I know it's more for little kids, but when I was little I loved the book, so when it was made into a movie I had to see it.
-  A new memory card
-  I can't really think of anything else at the moment

I'll await that day with glee!
You know sets me off? How people will buy (a) turtle/s, put him/her/them in a tank, and feed him/her/them skittles or something! Turtles are living things too, so show some respect! There's way too many things you need to do to take proper care of a chelonian.
Title: Re: Christmas (or whatever Holiday) lists
Post by: DeadAwake on November 20, 2005, 04:25:21 AM
:/  I didn't know people did that.  I also didn't know that turtles are called chelonians.

Do you want a small turtle or a big one?  I know the bigger ones can live for over a century.  I wonder if small ones have long lives too.  Maybe turtles live so long because they pace themselves.

Turtles are pretty cool. You don't really have to worry about them running away because... they can't run. If a turtle tried to escape it wouldn't be too far from where you last saw it.

I had a turtle that ran away. He climbed out the window, over a 12 foot fence then finally on the freeway.

Your right, he didn't get very far, but he didn't need to walk far where he was going.

OK, I thought that I had this planned out, but let me see:

- A razor.  I need my own face-shaving device.  The one I use is an old one that I don't like.  I want one of those ones with the three circles on them.
- I could've sworn that I wanted a video game... oh, TMNT 3 Mutant Nightmare for the GCN.  I'm not so hyped up about it anymore though, so I don't think I want any video game now.

This is hardly a list.  I also kind of wanted an etch-a-sketch, but I really don't want to spend money on such a thing.  Maybe an actual not-homemade nunchaku, but the homemade ones seem fine.  Or how about a camera to film stuff with? ...But my dad has one and I could just borrow his.  A cell phone?  No, I would hardly use it and have to continually pay money for it.  A car?  No.  A disposable camera?  ...Maybe.

So all in all, I want a razor, and a disposable camera.

Way to narrow down what you actually want, Markio! You're talking about electric razors, though.

Title: Re: Christmas (or whatever Holiday) lists
Post by: Luigison on November 27, 2005, 10:56:59 PM
Wario World is good, but not very good.  It's worth playing once, but has little replay value.  I was addicted to it though.  I played one boss until I found the max coin limit.

I don't know what to think about Wario Ware Touched. Watoad did a great review that made me want it. It seems like the kind of game I'll take to school on the last few days and everyone sits behind me and laughs at the pointlessness. I'm in serious need of a new DS game, all I've got is SM64DS and I've beaten it twice. (If you remember, I beat my first copy, lost it at the hands of a lake, then beat it after I bought it again)

From my mom:
Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow*
Beavis and Butt-head Volume 1: The Mike Judge Collection*
Soul Calibur III*
Doom 3 (Xbox Version)
Dragon Ball Z Uncut Volume 1
Shaun of the Dead
Evil Dead
Mortal Kombat: Shaolin Monks (Xbox Version)
Paranoia Agent Box Set
Halo 2 Multiplayer Map Pack
Sly 2: Band of Thieves (I didn't ask for the third one, because I have yet to beat or even play this one)
Animal Crossing: Wild World
Many more that I forgot.
Please note that I don't expect to get all of this stuff (except for the things with a * next to it). I'm just giving my mom ideas on what to get me.

Dad:
Electric Guitar with a couple of things to go with it.

My Stepbrother:
Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy (funny thing is, when I told him, he thought I told him "Grand Turismo: The Trilogy". I also mentioned how the GTA Trilogy was only for Xbox, so he was looking for the worng thing in the wrong place. Go figure).

The only thing I really want is DDR:MM.  If that was all I got I would care at all.  Because I don't have any DDR games yet and only played once so far.  And I also want a SSB GC skin because that looks cool.  I hope it does look good on my system and doesn't tear or peel off or something.

I don't know why I'm mentioning this here, but every time I hear this one Christmas song from now on I always hear the Super Mario Sleigh Ride song in my head playing with it.  Doggon remixes!

If I get Mario Kart DS I'll be happy. I think I got a cell phone. If I did, I hope I can record homemade ringtones. I got a huge box and my mom said "It's not a big thing, it's a bunch of little things." I like little things. I'm going to feel so bad when we're all at dinner as a family and I can't stop thinking about my DS. But I put minimal stuff on my list, so what I end up getting will be pretty random.

I thought this topic might need a revival in time for the holidays. I can't believe posts haven't been since '05! I know it is a huge bump, but it is for a good purpose. Let's continue to post our lists, shall we?

Here's a list of what a want/will most likely get:

-$575 Cort Artisan series B4 bass guitar
-Metroid Prime 3: Corruption
-Enough money for Guitar Hero III
-Elite Beat Agents

That's about it, because of my expensive bass guitar. I am incredibly thankful for the generousness of my family, and as MaxVance has told me, I should not feel bad for receiving such good gifts because they are gifts. What about the rest of you?

Title: Re: Christmas (or whatever Holiday) lists

Well, my INTENDED list was this:

Super Mario Galaxy
Trauma Center 2: New Blood
Heroes vol. 1 DVD
Family Guy vol. 5 DVD
and a crate of Ramune, as I got last year.

The list totals just about $150, yet we're even tigher on cash this year than last year, so apparently I will probably get only one of those things....*shrug*

All I want is to spend time with my family.  We'll probably play a lot of board (quoridor, bendomino, and rummycube) and video games (rayman 2, guitar hero 3, kabookii, and excite truck).  I already know I'm getting some good books and games.

Right now my list is:

Letter jacket (finally somewhere to put my letters)
The Orange Box
Any other Xbox 360 or DS game
Guitar Hero controller
"Alive 2007" - Daft Punk
"Greatest Hits" OR "Boston" - Boston

I haven't thought of anything else.

I wrote a list and never got around to giving it to my parents, but they already have my present (and my mom confused herself into telling me one of them is Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End). I'm not depending on any of them but number four, and I hope the rest of my family just gives me money. Everything I REALLY want comes out next year (Brawl, Mario Kart), and I buy every game I especially want on the release day, so I don't get games for Christmas.

1. Wii Classic Controller
2. Wii Points
3. Wii Zapper
4. Red and white striped socks

DANG. That list totals over $400 in games and accessories. You're asking Santa to get you ALL of those things?

Someone here doesn't know the true meaning of Christmas. =P

I hope you plan on getting gifts for the people who are getting those things for you.

I'm really not feeling Christmas this year. The only thing I want is beyond cash value and the one thing I really wanted has been pushed back to February. That and my siblings are being exceptionally greedy this year.

As for my list, it is as follows:

- Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn
- Contra 4
- Uncharted: Drake's Fortune
- Dell Inspiron Notebook
- Cell Phone
- Die Hard Collection
- Rey Mysterio: The Biggest Little Man
- Balls of Fury
- Money

I'm not really expecting anything beyond the first two though.

I wanted Contra 4 and Geometry Wars Galaxies, but then I decided that since my R4 should be here soon anyway, I could suffer a bit longer without them, especially since I'll have DDR SuperNOVA (already confirmed as one of my presents) and any other games I get for Christmas to keep me busy until it arrives.

I can't shake the feeling that one if not all of the things under your "Misc" category will not work as they're supposed to. And I think they're a tad overpriced. I'm getting a very infomertial vibe.
