Title: Merry Christmas!
Post by: Khold on December 24, 2005, 01:32:03 PM
It is now Christmas Eve, and everyone is excited about tomorrow, but some people might be going out of town, or already out of town. But, what are you most excited about? Seeing family members that you haven't seen in a long time? Or, mabey just the feel of Christmas day, and throwing a party. I'm excited because of the feel of Christmas! How about you? What is your first priority on your list? Having a special dinner? Tell us about your Christmas!

Merry Cristmas to you too!

I am most excited about going to Church. That is my favorite Mass of the year. I next like the seeing of family mambers that I don't often get to see. Presents is way down on the list, that isn't what Christmas is all about anyway.

Exactly!  It's not the value of the gift, but the gift itself.  Just knowing that someone took their time to get you something.

I personally just like the feel of Christmas, everyone giving, and celebrating.  Getting together with family is always fun.  Plus, I always write one Holiday story every Christmas, and this year I posted it on the Forums!

Hooray! And I got what I wanted: Egg nog. I told my parents, "If I don't have egg nog on Christmas I'm going to be mad." This year is going to be the best, since my whole list was random stuff that wouldn't matter if I didn't get, since Christmas money can get me MKDS no matter what. My dad got back from Texas last night and fixed the electricity in my sis's room. I'm-a go re-nog.

I love egg-nog too. ;D But, if I drink too much at a time, I get really hyper. (Kind of like getting drunk ;) )

I've never tried egg-nog. I definitely won't try it at McDonald's with that shake. :P I like the Christmas feeling too. Its so wonderful and gets you hyped up about great times to come. MERRY CHRISTMAS TO EVERYONE ON THE FORUMS!!!!! :D :D :D (^.^) ^_^ :)

I don't like egg-nog at all. It taste like paint! Blech. Anyway, I don't want Christmas to come. If it does, that means the season is totally over! And I'll have to wait another year.....

I don't see the point in this.

Also, if you're both trying to be funny, you're both not.

Someone seems a little cranky tonight. Did you not get what you wanted this year?

Seriously, talk like that on a CHRISTMAS thread is just... wrong, really. At least, on a family-friendly forum.

Anyways, not being religious at all, Christmas to me is more a time to celebrate the spirit of family, charity, and well-being.

I think Burnout: Legends was said to be worse than the previous Burnout but still really good.

As far as games, I got Metroid Prime Pinball and Sonic Gems Collection. Wewt!

They didn't know what to get me, other than Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance... so I got a bunch of money to buy games with. Oh yeah, I also got Madden 06, but no one would care about that.

Merry Christmas, everybody! It was my best Christmas ever, I thought, and here's what I got-

Mario Kart DS
The Sands of Time (A book)
Lano and Woodley CD
A whole box of Tim Tam fingers
And... a new computer for me! Woohoo!

Mario Kart DS
Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time
Family Guy 2006 Calendar
The Sims 2
An I.O.U
Title: Re: Merry Christmas!
Post by: Mr. Wiggles on December 25, 2005, 10:00:40 PM
I got:

Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time
Animal Crossing Wild World
Super Mario Strikers
Theodore Long and Rey Mysterio Action Figures
A new tire clock
20 bucks
A new Napoleon Dynamite shirt that says "Freakin' idiot, gosh!"
Some other clothes

Sadly, I didn't recieve Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance as I hoped I would. Hopefully I can buy it in one of those after Christmas sales. I also didn't get Beavis & Butthead: The Mike Judge Collection but I was sure I probably wouldn't get it anyway considering how easily influenced my little brothers are.

Merry Christmas to you all for the 15th berjillion time! o<IXD (laughing face with a Santa hat)

I didn't get very good stuff this year.  I only got 2 CDs, a necklace, a SSBM GC gamer graffix, a bunch of candy... and DDR:MM!!  Just kidding, the gifts rocked!!  Especially the Mario Mix.  This is the first DDR game I have ever owned, and I love the music in this, so I hope I can enjoy this for a long time and get much better with my eye-feet coordination.  What a shame that my room is really tiny and I have to keep moving stuff around.  Plus, I'll be at my grandma's house for four days and won't be home to play it.  I hope I can last four days!  Btw, how do you fold those mats up the right way without tearing them?

I really wanted to give some gifts but I have to watch my money so I can save up for more college semesters XP.  But my Dad said a $15 Dollar General gift certificate for my wonderful Mom wouldn't be too bad.

Christmas activities this year seemed less, but just as fun.  Went to a friends house with family for dinner, and tonight we went to an aunts house for another dinner.  Then we did our annual "Grinch" thing and stole dinner from all our neighbours.  They still haven't caught us yet but I'm sure they may eventually.  I also like to lie frequently during the last week of December so I can have an easy New Years Resolution to check off.

One more thing.  What's it like playing MKDS with the members here?  Do you keep your real names, or your user names, or make up new names?  I played a demo of the game once at Wal-Mart (the retro cup) and loved going back to the all those old courses.

Second edit!  Come on now, lizard brain.  This should really be my last thing.  You know what I found crazy?  As I read through the books of the New Testament this month by a simple coincidence today I read Luke chapter 2, the chapter that talks about the birth of Jesus.  Or maybe that's not a coincidence, who knows.

I had the best Christmas. We got my second-cousin (almost 2 years old) one of those tiny indoor tents with the tube, didn't even finish it, and within minutes she was shrieking with happiness. Oh, and I've got a grand total of $185, MKDS, Kirby Canvas Curse, 2 squish pillows, 3 pairs of fluffy socks, a cell phone, a mini-dry erase board, a gray sweatshirt, and the chance of getting Abby to shout "Tube bunnies!!!"

MKDs is better than I expected, and I expected it to be pretty freaking good. Daisy's annoying me, with her stupid "Woohoo!"s. Waluigi Pinball's one of my favorite courses, even though it's basically a huge spoiler that he's in the game. I'm doing pretty well, I'm on 150cc Mushroom Cup.

Ditto to everything you said, BP, except the Daisy bashing part. She's my third favourite character now.

Yoshi and the Egg 1 are working nicely. I like using karts with a lower item rate because a high item rate is just bad when you're in first place, which is where I plan on being.
Title: Re: Merry Christmas!
Post by: Ultima Shadow on December 26, 2005, 02:16:36 AM
I always use Luigi's classic kart.
Title: Re: Merry Christmas!
Post by: Khold on December 26, 2005, 01:53:41 PM
Yes, Waluigi's Pinball is also my favourite. I like the music alot, too.

My favourite character is Luigi or Yoshi, mainly because they have good handling and acceleration(did I spell it right?) I just use R.O.B. to show off... ;)

Right now, I'm looking forward to finding someone on the FF to play with on Animal Crossing: Wild World. The only thing I dislike is how the Sea Bass is now considered a "big fish", because the size or the shadow is larger than the first Animal Crossing. When ever I saw a big shadow like that, I always got excited. The Sea Bass is only worth like, 120 Bells, and you see them alot, too.

I think I said I got Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time, too. I just got past the part where you take Baby Mario and Luigi back to the present. The new battle attacks are a bit more confusing, though. :-\

I've never played an Animal Crossing game. I guess I could use a non-Mario game once in a while. List of all non-Mario games I have:
Kirby: Nightmare in Dreamland
Kirby & the Amazing Mirror
Kirby Canvas Curse
Final Fantasy I & II: Dawn of Souls
That's it. I might even be in town today, starting a debit account to protect my money.
(and is anyone on MKDS's wifi right now?)

I got a bunch of Green Bay Packers stuff, an HDTV, and PiT, among other things. I've played PiT for six hours total and just got two of the Cobalt Star shards back from Boswer Jr. This game is quite easy.. =/

I'm going to buy AC possibly tomorrow, so when I do, I'll post my friend code and whatnot in the Animal Crossing Haves and Wants thread.

I wonder why they excluded it from online play?
Title: Re: Merry Christmas!
Post by: BP on December 26, 2005, 08:11:42 PM
Because it's so flashy and cool. It's too much.
They got rid of a lot of stuff in the MKDD tracks. The shortcut in Luigi Circuit is gone, The dash panels on the bridge in Mushroom Bridge is gone, and the Piranha Plants in Yoshi Circuit were downgraded.  At least the Rank A mansion in Luigi Circuit is still there, in the background.

Yeah, I was kind of mad when I realized all that. I mean, Nintendo Power said it was going to have every single Mario Kart level in it... I was lied to... :'(
Title: Re: Merry Christmas!

Spoilers (kind of)

Well, I thought I could get every MK64 track in MKDD. I just wish I could play a revamped Wario Stadium instead of the one they gave us in Special Cup. And, I'm already missing Yoshi Valley. :(
Title: Re: Merry Christmas!
Post by: BP on December 26, 2005, 10:46:55 PM
I wish we got Wario Colloseum instead of Mushroom Bridge, Yoshi Circuit could've been in Leaf Cup. WC is the perfect finale for Retro GP. Or, Lightning Cup could have been all the previous Rainbow Roads.

I also noticed that Shroom Ridge follows the British/every-place-besides-the-U.S.-and-part-of-Canada's style of driving--on the left side of the road. Mirror mode brings us into America.
