Being a fanfiction writer, I was just curious as to which pairings where the most liked by people. Are you a Mario and Peach fan? Or are you more of a Wario and Peach fan? Do you think that Luigi will forever win the heart of Daisy, or do you think that Waluigi is Daisy's best match?
My personal oppinion is that Mario and Peach totally belong together, considering that Wario isn't really all that interested, AND I really can't see the two hooking up. On the other hand, however, I feel that Waluigi and Daisy would make a cute - not to mention interesting - pair.
This board is not for predicting where Mr. Miyamoto would take the whole ordeal. It's simply stating and giving reason for who you think would make a cute couple. Why? Because it's just fun to imagine these things. As I said before, I'm a fanfiction writer, so I find these sorta ideas fun to think about at the very least.
(By the way, there's ... no need to color the character names. I was just bored. X3 )

What about a Luigi+Peach pairing? Or Mario+Daisy? Or, hey, Bowser+Peach, for that matter?
I personally like Mario+Peach and Luigi+Daisy, but I've also found the idea of Luigi+Peach and Waluigi+Daisy to be rather interesting and not totally "crazy," either.

I just put down some of the basic pairings up there - I think I'll go edit the poll in a second, too. Those are some really interesting pairing ideas! Yeah, I know alot of people like the classic pairings (I really have trouble seeing peach with anyone besides Mario, unfortunately ... all though Bowser may be a possibility ... ), but I also know quite a few people who like the abstract pairings. Luigi+Peach is a new one, but I sorta like it. Intriguing idea there.
In reply to Solidmushroom, yeah, that's a more recent 'classic' pairing. Although no one's really sure whether or not they're related, are they? ... O.o That would be quite a dangerous pairing to mess with, if you weren't sure.

I think Miyamoto won't take it anywhere, because he doesn't like for Mario games to have a consistent storyline.

Yeah, I know. But I was saying that because some people may perceive this as 'most likely pairings', so I didn't want to give that impression.

Luigi and Captain Syrup and Luigi and Princess Eclair are my favorites.
Mario and Peach is of course, the classic pairing that isn't going anywhere. And Wario and Mona makes me happy, just becuase Wario is one of my favorite characters and I'd NEVER expect him to get with anyone, espcially a hottie like Mona. That pairing also makes me happy because it makes it clear that Mona has incredibly bizarre taste in men.

Wario will pair up with anyone he wants to, spend all their money and dump them. I voted for Wario & Peach just because of the hilarity that is the thought of their kids... probably would come out a 20-legged crab or me or something...

Anyway, in Mario Party 6... something to note, when you group Toad and Toadette together in a team, their name is 'Shroom Mates. I just find that amusing. Then again, I'm easily amused. XP
Also, Mario/Peach is "Cutest Couple" and Luigi/Daisy is "Steady Sweeties". Interesting...

Another thing: If you pair Mario and Daisy it says "Nice Couple" and Luigi/Peach yields "Green Escort". Guess the possiblities are endless.

Well, of course I did Bowser and Peach, but really just like a "friend" couple. It's nice to see them together, but not permanently. Like, Bowser loves her, but she loves Mario and Mario loves her, so Bowser can only settle for friendship, but that doesn't mean he doesn't like to be around her. It makes him feel all friendly-like. Of course he's probably rude to her unintentionally anyway.
And Luigi and Daisy are a lot more romantic than Mario and Peach. Mario and Peach didn't really meet until Mario saved her, and by then you feel obligated to go out with each other. But Luigi and Daisy look greater together. You've got the loud lady who draws out the shy Luigi, and the quiet Luigi, where his subtle signs of attraction mean so much more to Daisy because he's too afraid to just give someone the time of day. You can just see Daisy walking about Luigi's room, jabbering on about how pretty every detail is, and then Luigi runs his hand down her arm from her shoulder, she turns and trails off, Luigi's just smiling, and he gently leads her forward, and kisses her... Isn't that pretty?

Romantic, indeed. Wow. That's quite a scene you've come up there ... :3 See, I'm OK with both pairings: Luigi and Daisy OR Waluigi and Daisy. On one hand, you've got a very sweet, romantic pairing where the whole thing about them being completely different when it comes to how outgoing they are could come into play a whoooole lot. But then, on the other hand, you've got two confident people, one socially bright and outgoing and the other a loner who could honestly care less about most other people. But then that spark ignites, and Daisy begins to see something she's never imagined she could ever see in him, and suddenly, he finds himself opening up his life to her and finally having someone who doesn't scorn him for being ... him ...

My favorite MARIO pairing? It would have to be Luigi/Daisy. They look so cute together! So sweet. They make a beautiful couple.(Though I have always thought that Waluigi/Daisy would be nice, too* *sigh* I don't like Mario/Peach. I think that their relationshop should have been more of a best friend relationship, rather than romantic. *runs from classic Mario/Peach pairing fans* Markio, I agree. That scene you described is tooooo romantic! And Toad and Toadette (naturally ;)).

I remember seeing on some other message board(possibly GameFaqs, but I stopped viewing it due to the extreme n00bishness) that someone thought up a fancharacter called Lisa who was similar to Mona and filled the role of Waluigi's GF. Get it? Mona Lisa! LOL! Another thing worth nothing is that their names start with M and L, respectively. Not sure if it was a coincidence or not, though. I'm actually surprised that Waluigi still hasn't been featured in WarioWare, but I'll save that for another topic.

I just don't see why, if we're not sticking to the implied couples in the games, this topic is a poll and not just a topic. And I thought it was weird to only extend the list as far as it was extended if you were going to extend the list at all. I guess the fact that none of the characters are actually homosexual prevents any pairings like that from happening, but then, when is Daisy going to get together with Waluigi in an actual game either? And then there's the whole Birdo thing... but that was just some weird translation mistake or something. My point is, if a poll is asking for a favorite Mario pairing, it's incomplete to vote for a pairing that doesn'ty exist. With the poll the way it is, it may as well be "which Mario characters would be cutest together?" or something. But I'm just acting really picky and shouldn't care too much about trivial things like the amount of pairs on a poll on a message board about video games.
To be on topic, I prefer Daisy with Luigi because they offer an idea of what they'd be like together. Luigi is shy and unnoticed, and Daisy is loud and joyful. You can imagine what it'd be like with them together.
Mario and Peach, on the other hand, don't have much chemistry. I mean, Mario saves the princess, but that's not much different than a policeman saving an innocent person from a fire or something. It seems like a nice gesture, I guess, but nothing happens aftwerwards, except Mario gets kissed. At least at the end of Super Mario 64, he takes off his hat in her presence and blushes. Then Peach has a cute little pause between, "let's bake a delicious cake" and "...for Mario." It seems like the magic or unspoken bond between them is missing nowadays. I guess they went golfing together at the introduction to Mario Golf: Toadstool Tour, but that also seemed like a mutual invitation, as they simply golfed. I guess they cheered each other on. I wanna see some action, or some sort of implication of some sort of togetherness!

Eh, I dunno. I have to agree, Mario and Peach really don't have many of those small, 'magic', romantic moments, even compared to what they used to have. Of course, working that into the barrage of sport and Mario Party games probably isn't easy ... ::)
Daisy and Luigi do make a cute couple, there's no doubt about that. And you could deffinatly see them together. But see, I also could see Daisy and Waluigi together, as quirky as it sounds to alot of people. See, now, for expample, both of them are confident and pretty outgoing. Granted, Waluigi's a bit rude, cranky and bitter, but see, I think that Daisy would unlock his softer side. Honestly, I've thought up so many sweet, romantic scenes for those two ...
On another note, I'd extend the poll farther, except there's just too many possibilities if you really wanted to get technical or whatever about it all
