Title: The STATISTICS thread: Discuss numerical data here!

- One fourth of the worlds population is 25%.  The other 75% don't know that.
- 86% of statistics are made up on the spot.  The remaining 24% are not accurate.
- 75% of people are gullible.  The other 25% think the preceding statistic is true.
- Four out of five dentists say to chew sugarless gum.  The other one has a sense of humor.
- 51% of Americans think "mispelled" is spelled correctly.

I just made those up.  Post your own, or quote some you like. 

(I was going to post this in a fuzzy thread, but changed my mind.  If this has been done before or would go better in forum games admins can merge or move it.)

Baseball is 40% physical and 60% mental. If any of you have ever played the game you probably know what I'm talking about.

I have another sort of random statistic here as well. 100% of prime numbers are divisible by only two numbers.

What is 2 + 2?

If you're a normal person, the answer is four.
If you're a mathematician, the answer is either four, ten, or eleven depending on what base you compute in.
If you are a statistician, there is a 68% chance the answer lies between 3.95 and 4.05, a 95% chance that the answer lies somewhere between 3.9 and 4.1, and a 99.7% chance the answer lies between 3.85 and 4.15. This of course assumes a mean answer of 4 and a standard deviation of .05.

I am 100% annoyed that I made one topic with a reasonable name suggested by something Chupperson said and now 100% of a lot of topics now have to have similar names. It's 0% funny to me.
Edit: One of One Chuppersons didn't make said comment. 100% of all Insane Steves did.
Maybe an angst thread? A universal place where you can complain about whatever? I like that a bit better. I mean, we have one universal thread for the need to post nonsensical things, why one one universal thread for angst?

Well, this one isn't funny, it's actually true; Our body is 80%(or 70%) water.

I've also once taken a test to determine if I was 98% or 2% of the population. I got 98%. If anyone could find that quiz, make sure to post your results.

100% sure do! I take all aspects into consideration first: Will the topic last long with intelligent discussion? Will flame wars stay out of it? Will it be the first?  Will it be original? If "Yes" is the answer to all, I make the topic. I should add "Will it stay one of a kind and not cause a flood of similar topics?" as a requirement, since a similar thing happened with YKYBAMGW... even though YKYVTFFTMW... had already been here... Well, I guess I can't help it. I'll make the topics the way I want.
