That bob-omb is a pretty cool idea.  I hope the source toys aren't collectibles in their own right, though.  Who knows?  Maybe there is even a TOMY Forums out there, where people make drumming dogs using parts from Mario characters. 😛

The best commercially available bob-omb that I know of was filled with sugar.

Movement appears to be still based on the 8 directions allowed by the control pad: N, NW, W, SW, S, SE, E, NE. This is in contrast to the 3DS remakes…

I noticed this, too, and immediately pined for the N64- or GameCube-era joysticks with octogonal ranges.

That's so cool.

Even with my limited painting experience, I do know it takes serious skills to achieve such smooth finishes.  If you hadn't said anything, I would have assumed they were originals.

Holy heck, these are incredible. 😮 I will have to come back later to fully digest.  I like the Jnco look and wouldn't change a thing.

That Yoshi figure sounds extremely rare (and looks cool, too).

I think topic-posting privileges are unlocked after posting a certain number of times (like ten or something).

More importantly, congrats on scoring an early ticket!  Is it an actual, physical one?  If so, save that baby for the scrap book.
