Cameo appearances and references

By connecting the Family BASIC Keyboard to the Nintendo Famicom, the Family BASIC series let users create and save code in the BASIC programming language.

Mario characters appear in three of the four "game" modes. In this one, you are a penguin (from Binary Land), trying to avoid Sidesteppers (from Mario Bros.).

The same "BG GRAPHICS" editor returns from Family BASIC v2.0a/2.1a, which contains tile designs from Donkey Kong, Donkey Kong Jr., and Mario Bros.
