General Chat / Re: what games are.

Granted, I also prefere the random battles. However, look at it this way, without storyline what was there in the Lunar series? You would have a group of people running around fighting random (or not so random) battles for no reason, just running through with no incentive at all. However, it has been shown that the gameplay can be changed and leave the game in decent shape. As was done with the Lunar"C". Did the changes make the games bad? It added a, however un-needed, strategy to the game. I still feel that storyline is the most important, but that is only my opinion.

On a side not, the "C" in "Lunar2:EBC" is for Complete, for I had not figured that many people here, if any, had played the origional. You have shown me otherwise.

 I beg to differ.

Yoshi "Smack" 1: "notice Mario's hand on the side of Yoshi's cheek, and Mario's body beginning to turn to the right."

Granted, Mario's hand is on the side of Yoshi, and his body is turned to the right a tad. None the less, Mario could still very well be pointing.

Yoshi "Smack" 2: "First, ignore the thing on Mario's hand/behind Yoshi's eye. Thats the result of my ****ty digital camera with a rapidly dying battery. Mario' bdy has definately begun to turn to the right, and Notice how the hand is higher and at an angle more towards the left."

Mario's body has made no change what so ever. He has not moved at all since picture one. He is no more turned to the right than before, just look at the two images, the exact same sprite. I also notice no change in elevation. His hand has stayed the same, where Yoshi's head has gone down. No movement of the arm or hand. I don't see a change in angle either, considering it's exactly the same as in the first picture. His arm is in a straight line, no angle to be seen.

Yoshi "Smack" 3: "Notice how the head is down and sticking out. Most importantly, notice how Mario's hand is underneath his chin. His arm isn't being drawn back to his side, IT'S GOING ACROSS HIS CHEST!!"

Yoshi's head is also, in the exact same position as in image #2. His head is no lower than before. I can see where you would think his hand is making the turn, but I still believe it is being drawn back. Notice the bend in the elbow, that is where it makes his arm seem to be making the motion around. But, in either of the two images before, a bent elbow is absent. His elbow would have had to bend before image 3, but no sign of it has been shown. I see his arm being drawn back in a casual fashion.

No, please, inform us as to who "drove him to do it." I'd like to know.

Gameplay is definitly a factor, but I feel the most important is Storyline.

If a game lacks a good story, what incentive is there to play it? Well, maybe I should back up a little.

I think it depends on what kind of game it is. Generally, I talk about RPGs, for they are mainly what I play, but, I guess in a game like Mario Party or Mario Golf, the story really doesn't matter all that much. Just to clarify, the remainder of my post will be concerning RPGs, unless noted elsewhere.

Now, what is an RPG without a storyline? Not much. Sure, it can still be fun to play, with the many different styles of RPGs. However, many people, including myself like to get something out of a game instead of enjoyment alone. I like games that make me think about the storyline, or at least allow me to get something out of it. Games like Xenogears or Lunar (SSSC or EBC). Tales of Phantasia is another game that has an excelent story, although maybe not so much for kids, and I don't recommend Xenogears to many of you people here at the forums, excluding the few of you. It is a very good plot, although confusing at times, I think if you enjoy reading a good book (and I don't mean Harry Potter) you should enjoy it.

But, I'm getting off topic. So, yes, I feel gameplay, music, graphics, all play a role, but still take a back seat to Storyline.

Calm down. One little comment and everyone goes wild. First off, "Jap" is a racist term. Although I am not Japanese, I do find it offensive, so I'll ask you to please stop using it. Second Kirby, please stop trying the HTML, it's really bothersome and adds nothing to the topic. Also, on this note, you can't link directly on your desktop, you must upload an image to a web space provider or link to one already uploaded. Now, cut out the childish insults. I mean really, swearing at one another isn't going to get you anywhere. I'm not going to comment on "hell to pay." And finally, Goku, stating your opinion is fine, when done in a respectable manner. When you directly insult the boards, I find little incentive to respect your opinion.

Yeah, the song is done by a group by the name of Group X. Group X has a variety of funny songs. You can check some of their lyrics at their site, but some of the pages don't work, so be weary.

The flash was done by a guy I know, DarKnight13. He is pretty talented in the way of Flash.

Link to the Past all the way. It was great. Nice plot, it wasn't long but it wasn't short, and it was fun to play. It's so great.

Care to supply a link to this footage? I'm sorry, but I can't help but to be skeptical, that image does not look like he is riding Yoshi. But don't get me wrong, I do believe it is a possibility, but I'd like to be sure.

Or maybe she looks beyond the standards of today and doesn't care about looks. Is it so hard to believe she might like him for what he is?

Sure, it's a possibility. Anyone who has gone through the years where they begin to doubt things they believe has thought about that. However, that is where faith comes in. Basically, thats where it all lies, in your faith.

Maybe I wasn't being clear enough. I did not mean to say that you only believed in Science. I am aware you believe in both, you had mentioned it in earlier posts. I was only saying in regard to your last post, my feeling on what you said. My apologizes.

How can you prove science? To do that, you must rely on logic, no? However, logic is a by-product of science. Using logic is just explaining science with science, hence not proving anything. I'd like to see someone explain something without logic. I don't think it's possible. This is why I don't believe that to be a reasonable excuse to believe in science but not God.

Site Discussion / Re: bandicootbuddy.................
« on: May 17, 2002, 05:33:35 AM »
I should feel sorry for him? Well I'm sorry but I don't. Not in the slightest. Why? Because I never told him to leave, I never indicated I wanted him to leave, but he left. You know he'll be back, it's happened once more. I'm sick of hearing this "Oh Bandicootbuddy, come back come back." Yeah, I'm sure he read it in the other six topics made for him. I don't mind if you want him to come back, hell, I don't mind if he comes back, but don't tell me how I should feel. Because quite frankly, I don't care. He knows how I feel about him, and I'm sure you all do as well, but despite that, I always showed him some respect, something I did not recieve back, not that I am complaining. So, go ahead, tell me I should feel sorry for him, but it wont happen. Good day.

Nope sheilds aren't going to do the trick. Try swinging your Master Sword at the magic ball. It should bounce right back at him.
