Maniac Mansion (NES)
When you turn on a "video game," some music is played, and you hear the first five notes of the famous SMB theme.

isnt it the first 6 notes?

That's what David Dayton told me. I couldn't verify it myself.

Added, added, added, added, added, added......... @_@
Thank you, guys.

Let's not forget the Mario Dies and Game Over from SMB
I consider them as seperate themes.

Oh! Mario Party 1 also had bits of the theme in Peach's Birthday Cake board.

.. I'm sorry. I would put all of the ones that I think of in one post, but it's taking days at a time to think of them, you know. :)
Kinopio is the ultimate video game character! Who else can drive a kart, host parties, play tennis, give good advice and items, and is almost always happy??

Mario Net Quest had the first 6 notes, copied from SM64.
SM64DS also has those 6 notes.

Added, added.

But what's Mario Net Quest?

Shockwave game part of a contest promoting IBM AS/400 servers.

Okay, but as long as the game wasn't a real commercial game on a cartridge, CD, DVD, mini-disc, whatever, I don't count it.

That might cause problems once we have Revolution downloadable games.

More:
SM64DS minigames:
Boom Box - intro 6 notes at the beginning of each level
Trampoline Time and Trampoline Terror - same BGM as the Super Mario Sunshine FLUDD-less stages

MKDD - the Mario 8-bit battle stage has the intro 6 notes

Paper Mario TTYD in Glitzville (outside the Glitz Pit.. the music sounds to me like a sort of remix of the SMB theme)

also, even though not released here in us, in Doubutsu no Mori (Animal crossing 64 in Japan) had the nes games as well so they had Super Mario Bros (which had the theme)

No, that's incorrect Hydra_Hunter.  Animal Forest did not have all of the games that Animal Crossing did.  It did not include SMB.  Therefore, remove it from the list Otaku1990.

This game was mentioned, but I don't see it on the list yet, but the Mario theme is indeed remixed in parts of the MK on M&L: PiT on the DS.  I just got the game today.  I'll be patient...
