This is a strange thought that just popped into my head: What do you think they would've called Super Mario 64 if they didn't use the "64" suffix? Then, of course, I thought of all the other games: Mario Kart DS, Super Mario Bros. 3... heck, pretty much any game with a number in it and nothing else. So, basically, what do you think would be some good alternate names for games with only a number or some other system indicator (Super, 64, DS, Advance, Wii--that last one... I don't know how they can get away with that)?

I'd say in terms of Mario 64, "Super Mario: The Imprisoned castle"

« Reply #8 on: January 03, 2008, 08:59:09 PM »
Here's a couple:

Super Mario 64: Super Mario Bro. 5 (since SMW was kinda like SMB4)
Super Mario Sunshine: Super Mario Bro. 6 or Super Mario Tropic
New Super Mario Bros.: Super Mario Bros. 7 (like you didn't see this one coming)
Super Mario Galaxy: Super Mario Bros. 8 or Super Mario: the Final Frontier
Mario Pinball Land: MarioBall or Good grief this stinks

"Super Mario Bros. 2: Return of the Koopas" (Japanese version)
"Super Mario Bros. 2: The Dream Machine" (American version)
"Super Mario Bros. 3: The Doom Ships"
"Super Mario Bros. 4: The Revolution" or "Dinosaur Land" ("Super Mario World")
"Super Mario Bros. 5: A New Beginning" ("New Super Mario Bros.")
"Super Mario Land: The Intruder"
"Super Mario Land 2: The Usurper"
"Yoshi's Island: Mario's Untold Story" ("Super Mario World 2")
"Yoshi's Island 2: Between the Pages" ("Yoshi's Story")
"Mario and the Transcendental Castle" or "Mario and the Palace of Peril" ("Mario 64")

I'm having far too much fun with this.  : )

Well, it's called Super Mario 64, because, well, I guess because of the n64, but it also had 64 bits.

I think that's the fastest ban I've ever seen. That, and the fastest consideration as a nomination for the WTD Award.

I looked at the website in his profile, and the bottom of the page said (c) 2006. That means there may have been a 4-year-old web designer out there not too long ago.

No way a 6-year-old could come up with a title as good as "Mario Hoops 3-On-Wii".

Someone should explain this ban. Guy seemed pretty cool from that one post. And if lying about your age is a crime, I'm pretty sure I saw someone here with a negative age......

I've got a negative age, but I'm sure I wouldn't be the only one.

Well, bad grammar's not a sin, but the guy posted something completely irrelevant on a semi-dead thread with nigh-unreadable font arrangement.

So have 200% of all other noobs. Who knows, maybe he just misunderstood the point of the thread, and maybe he really doesn't know about the enter key. But banning someone for that one post is like, I dunno, harsh much?

Hey, is/was he/she/it a previous member that got banned and tried to get back on?
