I want to know what the revolution will look like! Will it play DVDs? CDs? GBA games? GameGube Games? If it doesn't play DVDs I'll be mad at Nintendo for choosing to fail and greatly succeeding.

I think we'd all want to know what it looks like... however, there is a huge possiblity that it will play GCN games. However, if it is compatible with the Game Boy Player, then yes, it will play GBA. I also have a hunch that it could interact somehow with the DS...

Luigi Simpson, it has already been announced that the Revolution will be backwards compatible w/ GameCube games FOR SURE.

It will most likely use HD-DVD format.  Sony and Microsoft may use Blu-ray.

I doubt it will play DS games. You can't use the touch screen on the TV.

Yeah, but with the DS issue, I was speaking more hopefully than anything else. Who knows what could happen...

DVD playing isn't important to me. If you really want to watch a DVD, but a DVD player.. jesus. I just want to play games...

You're telling Jesus that you just want to play games and you don't even bother to capitalize his name.  Shame.

I agree that DVD play is not needed, but would be good for some people.  For example, a couple goes on vacation.  Hotel movies are expensive so they want to take a DVD player, but they don't have room for a DVD player and their game console.  He want the games.  She wants the movies.  If Nintendo added a DVD player they would be fine.  DVD playing consoles are also good for College students who are short on cash and space.

I always hear that here!  If you want to watch DVDs, get a DVD player!  But still, not many others think alike.  Nintendo should make a DVD player built in, because if they stand by their total-gaming ideas then they will fall short of sales.  Sure even I disagree with it, but they should if they want it to sell.

I hope that the Revolution WON'T have a DVD player installed within it. I don't buy game consoles to watch movies on them: I buy game consoles to play games on them. Having multiple functions is nice, but what about the pricetag? I don't have an unlimited amount of money. Perhaps if two different models of the Revolution were built, the problem would be solved? An economic one and an "all-in-one" version.

I'm talking about exactly what Suffix just said.....we don't want Nintendo to fall into what the other companies did, but it's what they should do, or they'll just be making one bad decision after another.

Xbox 2 looks funny as heck.
As a game that requires six friends, an HDTV, and skill, I can see why the majority of TMK is going to hate on it hard.

If Nintendo does include a DVD player in the Revolution, then I hope they can make it so it DOES NOT ruin the lense. Sony made that mistake and the PS2 lense would wear out faster if you played DVD's on it because it had to refocus for it to work.

I think the X-Box 2 looks... interesting. I look the look of the PS3, though, and also the Revolution.

Uh, there's nothing wrong with a DVD-playing game console! If you don't want it to play DVDs, don't insert a DVD! But, I want it to play DVDs, so let's all shut up and wait for the Revolution!
By the look of the images, it looks like the Nintendo GameCylinder. Better than GameRectangularPrism, at least.

These concepts are utterly fascinating. The Xbox one looks like a joke to me, though. I wouldn't mind a GameCylinder. But an XPyramindox doesn't look very space-saving.

Personally, I don't care if the Revoltuion plays DVD or not. I buy a console to play games, no do other things. Still, if it helps to sell more, then they can put it in. Yeah, that Xbox2 is really funny looking.

Arrrgh! Why would a little extra feature do wrong? It's like the free Metroid Prime Hunters Demo with the DS: if you don't like it don't use it! Geez.

Those look really cool!  XBox 2 looks stupid, but then again, it IS stupid.  What is Gamepal and Freedom mode(For Revolution controller?)  And what is "Nintendo Nexus?"

The good thing about Nintendo is they worry about saving space with their systems early: XBox2 looks like it'd break your shelf/table. Sony cared--a few years too late. Now everyone who'd want a PS2 has a regular one, and no one will bother to get the small version. That was a stupid idea.
And I think the freedom thing is where you have two things in your hands instead of one, like a 2-piece controller. That's a good idea for people who get cramped.

How about online? I also agree about no DVD.
DVDs come out a lot faster than games and if
you keep playing you may forget about the most important thing:the games. How much will
it cost? I think $149.99. What Mario launch title will go with it? Hope a true sequel to
SM64 if SM128 doesn't do well. (If it happens.) Heard it comes out in late 2006.
Yeah, I know. That is a long time but we can
wait. The DS will also keep us occupied now.
I'll have more info when I get my August issue of NP. I already have May.

Well, as nintendoexpert89 said, NP has No Power left and just sits around "being nothing but propaganda for their own products." Whether you think of it as propaganda or not, it was a quality magazine once but in my opinion has ceased to be.

Chupperson is quickly becoming the ultimate in single-sentence arguments.

I agree that NP has become "more" of a propaganda machine.  They are trying to make it look less so, but that doesn't change the fact.    At least the official Playstation magazine will list Nintendo and Xbox games on the top sales page.  I use http://gamerankings.com to get a good overview of game reviews, but subscribe to NP for the freebies, inside news, and sweepstakes.  I am subscribed for about three more years because I keep getting free things like headphones, guides, t-shirts, etc.  I am subscribed to Game Informer for the GameStop 10% off used games.
