How? How is that possible?
Augh. Don't know how "American" got in there. Thanks for spotting it.

If Mario gets adapted into animation again, it'd probably have to be anime. Nintendo of America seems to be wary of any Super Mario adaptations since the live-action movie. By the time that was released, Mario had appeared in three TV series (four if you count Saturday Supercade), multiple comics (including Nintendo Power's excellent "Adventures" series) and even choose-your-own-adventure books.

But after the movie, there haven't been many, if any, adaptations in other media. Heck, Disney was probably lucky to get Bowser in "Wreck-It Ralph".

Mario Chat / Sprite Identification

So, long story short, on a nostalgia kick, I decided to rewatch some Newgrounds videos I enjoyed back in middle/high school. Anyway, I came across this trippy music video.
I recognized almost all the sprites, but I have no idea where the heck these are from. Which is a shame, since they're incredibly well-drawn. If it helps, Wario appears in the video in a similar style.

And on a related note, any idea where this infamous gif is from?

Wait a second... how'd you get Zelda's hair like that?
I think it was some kinda of freak graphical glitch.  We just paused it and Zelda had that funky 'do goin' on, which disappeared for the rest of the match.

Mind if I bump this topic?

Many people sing when they're at home alone.  Luigi likes to sing opera.

Zelda, I MUST have the name of your stylist!

Come up with your own joke.

Wario shows his loyalty to the king...

...to lure him into a false sense of security.  Now the king is dead and Wario rules the galactic empire!

"EYAAA!  Get away from me!  I don't know where that armor's been!"

It's like the contents of three paint cans suddenly came to life and morphed into a figure...

Nice to see that something Wario Land-related made it into Brawl.

One of mine would probably be when I was screwing around in training mode, and a bunch of banana peels were surrounding Ike.  I'd hit him, he'd slip on the peel behind him, roll forward, slip on the ones in front of him, causing him to fall back on the ones behind him, and he was caught in a slipping loop.

I haven't been able to duplicate it since.

BEST: Super Mario Strikers.  Tons of fun with friends.

WORST: Mario Golf.  It should've been more than just a realistic golf game with Mario characters.

I've heard that Donkey Kong Hockey is pretty bad, but I'm not gonna pass judgment until I actually play it.

- They all look different.
So?  SMB3 and SMW wouldn't have been any worse with the bosses being 7 stick figures that looked exactly alike.

I got really sick of seeing Bowser Jr's ugly mug, back in Super Mario Sunshine, and have never liked the monstrosity. Ever. Why does Nintendo keep using characters everybody hates??
I never saw Navi after Ocarina of Time.  Everyone hated her.  Oh, and what about the dog from Duck Hunt?
(although I'm just as lost as you are on Waluigi)

In Bowser Jr.'s case, it's probably due to the fact that it's easier to develop one character than it is seven.  And he takes up a lot less screen time than seven koopa kids.  Sure, there's not a whole lot of character development in the Super Mario games, but it does exist, especially since technology has advanced to a point in which more storytelling can occur.

BEST: Super Mario Land Trilogy
-Mario leaves his castle to go to Sarasaland to rescue Princess Daisy from Tatanga.  When he's finished, he comes back to his castle to see that Wario had hired Tatanga to kidnap Daisy as a distraction so he could take over Mario castle.  Wario gets kicked out, then plots to retrieve the golden Peach statue that Captain Syrup stole, along the way collecting as much cash as he can.
WORST: Super Mario Bros.: The Lost Levels
-Bowser kidnaps Peach again and takes her back to his castle.

BEST: Wario Land II.  They were a lot of fun to collect, especially the giant ones with Wario's profile etched into them.  And there's also those black ones that are worth 100 coins.

WORST: Super Mario Kart.  Glad they never brought 'em back.

First post!

I voted Bowser in the Sky, since my favorite games ever are the 2D Mario games, and the Bowser levels are basically  the same: keep jumping from point A until you get to point B.  I like the final stage the best because it's the longest and most difficult.  Not to mention how dramatic it feels to be climbing higher and higher...
Then the hardest battle with the Koopa King occurs, which is combined with epic music, the best song in the game.
