Yoshi's Island

I'm trying to conquer the island, and I'm stuck in World 5-3.  I can't get past the first portion where you have to go up the ski lifts(after the bonus helicopter area).  They disappear, and I can't fly high enough to get up there!  HELP!!  Any suggestions?  you can post them or email me at pattybennett@cs.com
