Which Mario game had the most satisfying ending? Something simple, like Super Mario Bros? Or epic, like Galaxy? Or somewhere inbetween, perhaps a RPG? We ask you this! (Gone=No computer=Spring Break)

The most satisfying ending? I'm thinking of TWO of the best endings from these two games.

Super Mario Bros. 3 or Super Mario World would win my vote.
SMB3 has one of the greatest ending tunes of any game, whereas it's nice to see listings off enemies on SMW.
I guess I'll say SMW.

I liked SMW's ending... But that's mostly due to nostalgic purposes.

It's been a while since I played through any of the games except for Super Mario World...I guess that's my vote.

Well, even though the Paper Mario ending was great (just watched it on YouTube, looks like it directly follows in the footsteps of Super Mario RPG), and the ending to Yoshi's Island was awe-inspiring (I'd put that in a very close 2nd place), I'll have to say the ending to Super Mario RPG is the best. The parade surprisingly is not the best part, it's the part beforehand which provides a look at what some familiar characters are up to afterwards. The calm but almost-melancholy music gives a great dreamlike vibe, and it's a nostalgia trip to see these beloved characters once more... but Jonathan Jones looking out over the ocean at sunset takes the cake. That part makes me cry every time. Loved Jonathan the shark boss...
So give me Jonathan Jones at sunset any day.

Okay, I'm retracting my vote and playing through a few of these other games this week.

I'm really split between SMRPG and PM. SMRPG is awesome for all the reasons mentioned and more, but PM has a lot of the same stuff, plus Peach's inspirational speech over the Mushroom Kingdom's national anthem.
All right, 47% to SMRPG, 53% to PM.

My vote goes to Super Mario 64. There's just something about it that always gets me. Always. Second place for me is Paper Mario (which I happen to be playing at the moment).

Hmm.. Super Mario Galaxy has the best Mario platformer ending..
Mario Party 5 has the best Mario Party ending (for the single player mode)
Mario Power Tennis has the best Tennis ending(s) there are two blooper reels (though the N64 game is up there because it's one of the few times we see Toad participate and have pretty good ending, even if it made little sense)
Mario Kart.. actually, that series hasn't seen any spectacular endings, so nevermind (if this were the Worst in Series thread, worst MK ending would go to MKDD..)
Super Mario RPG and Paper Mario tie for the RPG endings, but M&L Superstar Saga is definitley a close second (third?) in this section of Mario games. I don't remember the ending for Super Paper Mario, and Paper Mario 2's is the worst for the Paper Mario's (moreso the 'parade', which was the vaguest parade I've ever seen).
So, my vote goes to Mario Galaxy, if I have to pick just one. :D

I wish games would be better at differentiating when you need to do that. I don't honestly know how long it took me to beat Twilight Princess because I turned off the game at the end when none of the buttons seemed to do anything. And yet, when my brother beat it, he went back to the menu with no trouble at all!
