Yes, you can look at Facebook anywhere and anytime you want, but it takes the back seat to whatever you're doing.

Not necessarily. I've seen people at parties who just whip out their iPhones and go on Facebook instead of socialising. They're thankfully a minority for the most part, but it's an alarming minority nonetheless. Never thought I could see the day you could be socially antisocial. :P

The real question is, how many people actually recognized your costume?

Most of them. Got a couple who thought I was Inspector Gadget, though. xP

I loaded up Brawl after a long time, and I couldn't stand the fact that I still didn't have all the stickers and trophies. I was missing quite a few, so I made it my goal this break to finish getting them all. All I can say is I'm pleased with myself because I managed to do it!

Whooooa. Only you could be so meticulous to track down every last one of the bloody things, well done!

Just held a party dressed as Rick Astley. I believe that says it all.

Pretty sure the 3DS comes with a charging cable as well as a cradle. That'd be how they let people play it at all of the demos.

and in the other, they spend their whole lives in the Mushroom World (the modern Mario continuity)

It doesn't really explain their different attributes though (moustache, height, ability, accent), especially in relation to the other inhabitants of the Mushroom World.

I'm not familiar with the storyline in Yoshi's Island DS, so correct me if I'm being totally incorrect, but maybe it's possible that the Baby Mario & Luigi were sent to Brooklyn some time after the events of YIDS? It would explain how they got their accents, at the very least, and leaves the timeline open to a bit of flexibility with regards to how they (re?)discovered the Mushroom World.

So, theoretically, you could insert a flash card into any 3DS of anyone you find and get Nintendo to brick it remotely?

I miss the days where you could buy something and actually have ownership of it.

Mario Chat / Most Underrated Mario Game
« on: March 09, 2011, 04:14:48 PM »
We all have our favourites from the many Mario games over the years, but as far as widespread acclaim goes, there are always a few that slip under the radar. So, Fungi Forumers, I ask you this: which Mario games do you think are far better than what people would suggest?

My picks;
Yoshi's Story- very kiddy in terms of graphics and such, but all in all a fun (if easy) platformer that stands up well on its own merits. I think it suffers a lot from comparisons to Yoshi's Island when in reality it is quite a decent game.

Mario Kart Super Circuit- with less of the memorability of SMK and MK64, and the fancy graphics of those that followed it, it's not unfair to say that MKSC is the black sheep of the series, when in actuality it combines the gameplay of its two predecessors brilliantly over 40 tracks (half of them recycled but still...) and sports addictive and fast-paced gameplay for the GBA. I always feel nostalgic when I see a MKSC track pop up in a retro cup on MKDS/MKWii.

Ah, I wouldn't complain so much at an SMS remake for the 3DS (seeing as I never owned it on Gamecube to start with), more that the potential to make an even better 3DS game had been wasted.

Sapph's last comment elicited a squeal of nostalgia from the 2004 newbie in me. Good to see that you're keeping the mailbags going, this one was great to read. :)

Regardless, do we really need another remake of Super Mario 64? I'd rather see an original title that fully takes advantage of 3D than just another remake.
