I definitely felt like a bad-ass when I got 100 points on each level in Yoshi's Island. :D  Still haven't got perfects on all the special courses. . .

Kirby 64 though. . . even getting all the crystals really doesn't seem that tough. . .  It was good to finally see a decent side scroller on the N64 though.

Which Wario Land games have you played?  The first one was painfully easy, but 2 and 3 were good.  2 had the most fun and well-rounded gameplay, while 3 was the most challenging with an emphasis on puzzle solving.

Yeah, I'm really having trouble picturing Wario in an RPG-type adventure.  I was more than happy with the sidescroller games. . .

Sorry, that was unnecessary.

When will they learn what?  To stop making fun games so your sorry ass can attempt to beat Super Mario Bros.?

Oh, right.  You've got you're bases covered. :)  Though I'd rather see a lack of Waluigi in the next Mario game. . . That's just me though.

Whoa, jeez, simmer down Sanctus.  Over here, in the good ole' U.S of A, "pimp" is slang for, you guessed it, "ladies' man."  Obviously the literal meaning is different in the U.S.A (something about prostitutes?), but I of course, meant the slang definition.

If you don't know what the definition of a word is look at the context of the word, that should usually give you a good idea of what definition is meant.

ps- Don't kill me.  Or do anything similar.

:D

Man, it doesn't take much for a discussion to go insane. . . : )

Oh, Sanctus, "smooth operator" means like "lady's man," or "pimp."  Meaning you have a way with women (i.e Lola).

:D

Who's Mario and Luigi is it then?

I interpreted the backstory like this:

Mario Bros. go through events in Yoshi's Island (that's why Bowser wants to kill them).  Mario parents send them to Brooklyn (whatever) so they don't get killed by Bowser.  Later they go into the infamous pipes, leading to the Mushroom World.  The rest, is history.

Mega 2, don't give me that "our" Mario bull****, I've had enough of it.

I doubt there's any interest left in this thread, but I felt a need to tack on my admiration of Majora's Mask.

It kicks big, hairy skullkid ass. :D

I F-I-N-A-L-L-Y got it for Christmas, and, miraculously enough, I got the one with the 3D-hologram-thing-sticker.  I love pretty much everything about this game (except that ****ed Gyorg, what a pain) especially the whole freaky atmosphere, it offsets the epic feeling of Ocarina of Time perfectly, as it was meant to do. (before it was released, it was called Zelda:  Gaiden, remember?  Gaiden means sidestory )

Sooo. . . what was everybody's favorite mask? (besides the obvious Fierce Diety Mask).

The Kirby games are alright, they're just waaayy too easy.  The power-up system in Kirby 64 was really cool though :D  The rocket launcher and dynamite were my favorite transformations.

One more thing. . . I'm hoping you "forgot" to mention Wario ;)

I think the big W-man should reprise his role as general trouble maker and twisted mo-fo.  He's gotten a little soft (Mario Tennis, Mario Party), so I think it'd be cool to have him appear at different points throughout the game to give Mario a hard time.  I'm not saying Wario should overthrow Bowser as the final villian, I just think it'd be cool if he popped up once in a while to throw a monkeywrench in Mario's progress.

Of course, he's completely independent of Bowser's control, so you might occasionally come across him mutilating some small, wimpy member of Boswer's Army, only to be trashed by some big, ugle member of Bowser's Army :D

I was thought the timers in the regular levels of the Mario games of old were pointless and irritating, I agree with a lot of the ideas you had, except the timers.  Save those for bonus levels and such.
