WTD is that song even about, anyway?

You don't want to know. Actually even if you did want to know saying it would more than likely be bannable on these forums. Which is why it's so popular in the first place. Seriously, I laugh at all the "hip" girls who sing this song like it's the most amazing thing ever without realising how extraordinarily degrading it is to them.

Also, wow at me getting an award despite posting like 30 times this year total. Weeeeeee for attitude 180s. Though I'm still not giving up being a cynic, I'll probably give up being depressed and spiteful. That just wasn't fun.

Actually, Miis would be awesome in Brawl as replacements for the punching bag.

I just got an offer for an actuarial internship near Hartford, Connecticut.

Which means:

1) I'll be working for an awesome insurance company this summer (and will likely be able to get a job offer from this company in the following year)
2) My job hunt is finally over
3) I'm getting out of the midwest :D

I stickied that thread.

Does that count?

Jesus, seriously? A writing assignment? And full custody of their kids? Was the judge asleep, or something?

Well, she is a woman... and all men -are- child molestors in the eyes of today's courts, so it makes perfect sense!

But seriously. When Psycho got drunk and used my name, grandma wanted me to go to court and plead guilty!

After this incident I would refuse to admit my grandmother existed, disocciate mysef from her ASAP, and even not go to her funeral when she died. That said, I somehow think this may not be an option for you, but taking the fall for someone else's misdemeanor? After that many prior convictions? That's ... unacceptable.

Oh, that's nothing.

My parent's good friend's crazy ex-wife was arrested for selling cocaine to children.

What did she get? Well... A letter to the judge explaining how she "wouldn't break the law again." That's it, a writing assignment. No jail time.

Oh, I forgot, she also got permanent custody of their two daughters. I forgot about that part.

So I read a few of my posts at the beginning of this year and compared them to what I feel like right now.

Here's hoping that 2008 brings as much change for the positive in my life as 2007.

Ya, going to the requisite Hot Topic in any mall my girlfriend and I go to and not buying anything has become almost a tradition. Well, except for last time when she bought a shirt. The other tradition is noticably running away from the requisite Abercrombie. I don't know, any store where you're greeting by a 10x12 foot picture of a shirtless guy with unrealistic muscles kind of scares me.

Actually the two stores I hate are Kohl's and JC Penney. Both due to childhood memories of being stuck in those stores for far too long.

Anyways, right now I have ANGST about job hunting. It seems that qualifications only get you pre-selected for interviews. Actually getting a job offer? That takes either internal connections or the ability to build rapport with the interviewer, neither of which I'm good at at all. The result is dozens of rejection e-mails, letters, and at least one voice mail. Don't get me started on the rhetoric of rejection letters; they are sooooo fake and insincerely flattering and dfkjasifowehjghsdkjvnzxvbsidlugkjeshdfviousdhvjbnsdjfkgds

Napoleon Dynamite is definitely not my style of humor, at all. I saw it and my sentiment for the entire movie was "what, what?"

I've always seen the internet as a neutral third party, myself. It treats you, for the most part, how you deserve to be treated.

Popular music today sucks. All of it.

I really like most electronic music. I prefer harder techno and hardstyle (driving around at night with the windows down and the bass cranked up is just waaaaaay too much fun), but I like some trance and more mellow stuff too. Sometimes. I also like most classic rock.

Writing is fun when you're doing it on your own time or if it's on a topic you are interested in.

It's torture otherwise.

If someone was parked in my personal parking place I wouldn't want them booted there.

That price seems high to me, but I know prices vary by location.  Was the spot marked or in an obvious place like a driveway?

a) it was a parking lot in front of an apartment complex. Apparantly you need a permit to park there but there was no warning sign at all for this lot. There was one in an adjacent lot, but not this one/
b) there were several spots remaining in said lot, it's not like I was taking up space that a resident needed. There was, however, 0 space in the street where visitors normally park. At all.
c) Typical campus parking ticket cost = $20-$35.
d) I have parked in this lot numerous times before without being towed.
e) There were several (i.e., at least half a dozen) cop cars parked in the lot next to the towing company. POLICE EXTORTION RING? OH NO I'M SURE THIS ISN'T THE CASE I'M JUST PARANOID I MEAN THERE'S NO WAY THE POLICE FORCE GETS A CUT OF THIS
f) When I was picking the car up, there was an Asian girl there (who didn't speak English horribly well) who messed up her car rather bad (it was a ~$3k car, no collision insurance, probably not totaled but repairs would be very expensive). They managed to convince her to give them the title of the car in excahnge for towing fees. I'm 100% sure that the salvage value of the car >>>> the cost for the company to tow it.

Conclusion: The towing company is a legitimate, perfectly honorable business that has no hand in overpricing their "serivces" to screw over college students and over people with no power to fight them.

Conclusion II: I would not be able to say the above sentence with a straight face in person.

I mean, I can get back $140 from poker on a good day, it's just that I had much much better uses for that money and I didn't have a particularly good week to begin with. (The weekend, though, went quite well. :D )
