Sorry for the double-post but, this.

Wow, didn't expect to do it on the first try.

Pretty much everything is shown in the video; like I said, the bulk of the changes are in the equipment and enemy stats.  However, I did change the colors of ? blocks; item blocks are red, coin blocks are yellow, and (visible) bean blocks are green.  Also, a formerly unused BGM track plays in (non-destroyed) shops, the Game Arcade, and the Pipe House; I should probably mention that in the video.

Just finished this a few days ago; basically I gave everything (even remotely) related to stats an overhaul; this means completely redone items, badges, gear, Bros.' and enemies' stats, item rewards, shops, STACHE discounts, etc., etc.  There's a link to the .ips file in the video's description.  Check out the Yoshi's Lighthouse forums for more information on the Superstar Saga editor and various other hacking miscellanea.

Double-star rank in MKDS, Triple in MKW (albeit with a goodly amount of restart-spamming).

I cleared SM64 70-star in 1:33 and with 3 deaths some bored Sunday afternoon last fall semester.

Upwards of 2,400,000 points in SMBDX's challenge mode (enough to make the screen turn green again), nearly half a million in 7-1 alone.

Under 100 death count on my second full playthrough of SMG2.

Beat the Pit of 100 Trials in PM2 with 25 HP and 10 FP; making plans to try a pre-Hooktail run.

All that aside, I don't think I can trump power-up-less Outrageous without a good hour-long session, lol.  That level is still beastly to clear without taking a hit.

Super Mario Bros. 3 and Super Mario 64 are pretty flawless, IMO (I wish I could say the same about SMA4, thanks failed e-Reader).  And remake as it might be, SMBDX lacks anything that I can see to criticize (besides the lack of graphical updates and the later Lost Levels, but both are forgivable due to its being a GBC game).

Superstar Saga's pretty close, but the overall lack of balance in the stats is a significant flaw, to say nothing of downright broken equipment like the Mush Badges.  Paper Mario, as well, comes close, but I feel it lacks a definitive challenge factor; that and the incredibly rigid 50-50-30 stat structure makes interesting strategies like HP-only all but impossible to pull off.  TTYD, on the other hand, nailed both of those, and the incredibly flexible badge/battle systems work seamlessly together.  Just about the only thing I'd change about it is the frequency with which enemies produce badges by any means; it's a great idea, but the one-in-several-hundred chance of getting most badges sort of kills the incentive to try to obtain them.

Toad/Paratroopa in the Toad Kart, oddly enough.  Acceleration + noobish snaking > Speed all the time.  That and triple shells/Golden Mushroom's by far my favorite item combo, even if I rarely get to use the latter.

OK, apparently there are results, but I can't see them.  Could someone take a screenshot of the distribution graph?

For reasons too involved to detail, I picked 1.

Lol, I wonder how I missed that one; I've known of its existence for some time.  Coincidentally, I'm in the process of making a video showing the locations, but I wasn't planning on posting that here.  This thread can be locked by whomever wishes.

Either way, wouldn't that require at least the Z button to get up to the wall?

Ack.  And yet, it still seems better than my college connection, for whatever reason.

I saw this a while back.  If only there were more progress on a SMA4 editor akin to Lunar Magic; there's already a few people out there who have made new levels by hex-editing.

Game Help / Mario Party 2 minigame help/advice
« on: May 12, 2011, 02:07:28 PM »
So, I finally spent the measly $10.00 to get MP2 on the Wii's Virtual Console, and I'm really enjoying it.  However, after several board maps' worth of play, there's still a couple of 2v2 minigames I've yet to unlock.  So my question is, in which modes other than the main board maps, if any, can you unlock new minigames, and which of those would be the fastest?  I've unlocked both Battle and Trial mode at the Minigame Stadium already, and I'm pretty sure I have all the 4p's and 1v3's (although I haven't quite bought them all yet).

Also, I haven't played one of the board maps yet; does unlocking/playing the sixth board (I'm assuming there is one, aar, there's a gaping hole in the center of the main menu) unlock anything else?

Perhaps I should make something like this for Superstar Saga's Knockback Bros. and Chopper Bros.  I'd probably benefit from them myself.
