I'd say the people who flip out that there isn't a perfect solution to block all offensive stuff. Setting aside the subjective nature of what's offensive and what's not, it's impossible to have a filter that blocks everything. Which is why I got mad at that one story saying China wanted Google to block all offensive stuff. That's not easy to do. And there's suspicion that they're not holding China-based search engines up to the same standards, but whatever.
Still, I'm always a little concerned whenever I do a Google Images search. Most of the time everything's fine, but it takes just one porn image to screw everything up.
As for people who take offense at the internet's "awfulest" stuff... give it time, I'm sure something even more awful will come along. There's usually comedy to be had in seeing or reading people's reactions. What is surprising is how quickly people will get used to it.
