And amusingly, Aonuma actually has the whole multiple timeline divergence thing planned out these days.

Which is why they should never plan anything.  Just let fan**** sort it all out.

A few opening spaces?  Does that mean you have to knock your opponent at the exact angle at which they'll fit through the tunnel to the edge of the screen?  Sounds frustrating.

Plot had potential, but the incident at Pinna Park and the fact that Shadow Mario looks nothing at all like the real Mario interfere with how good it is.

Come on, everyone knows Mario always wears a purple gel suit when he goes on a vandalism spree.  Also, Shadow looks exactly like Sonic.

But it has platforms, so it is a platformer.  It's just not a sidescroller, because the sides don't scroll.
