Bowser walked out of the hospital. He was lost in thought. He just kept walking. He went through many towns, until he wound up in Toad Town. He happened to see Mario, Luigi, and Toad standing out in the open, talking. he thought, "I know! I'll see what Mario says. That should give me some answers."

He called out, "Mario! Luigi"

The man was puzzeled, "What forces are those?"
Bowser responded, "Why, the army of Bowser!"
The man was still puzzeled, "The army of who?"
Bowser was getting ticked off, "Me! I'm Bowser! The King of the Koopas!"
Mad Scienstein looked at Bowser and eventually spoke, "Lad, you must be going crazy. Bowser was killed by Mario years ago!"
