A spherical object, half red and half white, dropped onto the hallowed turf, bouncing slightly after it impacted. A glass eye gleamed upwards at the shimmering, morphing sky, the creature inside yearning to get out. With a sound more appropriate for a gale of wind, the ball opened, tearing itself asunder around its middle along pre-cut lines of utmost precision. From within the ball came a white light; it rent the air apart with its blistering speed and ominous presence as it burst forth, quickly taking shape.
The light smashed itself upon the ground, forming into a stout rodent. Its yellow form, hunched over slightly thanks to its natural posture, began to move slowly, as long sharp ears twitched out of unbridled anticipation. It stood as a human would, despite its strange body structure; small paws pattered on the ground, and red cheeks crackled with electricity.
“WOO! Pikachuuu!”
The boy looked at his friend curiously. They were trying to play a perfectly good game of Smash Brothers- Fox only, no items, Final Destination, because it was supposedly more fun that way- but his friend had to enter rabid fan mode, and pick Pikachu.
“I really don’t know why I bother,” he muttered, dropping his controller onto the ground from exasperation and leaving his friend to froth at the mouth at the appearance of his favourite electric rodent.
Yeah, I dunno.
