Here's my situation-  I have decided for some reason to dive headfirst into computer programming, for reasons I may add to the end of this post.  Anywho, I have coded in BASIC/Visual Basic for about 6 months, and dabbled in HTML for over a year (HTML isn't programming, but it's still experience!)  For Christmas I got a copy of Visual C++ 5.0 and I want to start playing with that.  Unfortunately, I only have a couple of Dummies books to guide me.  I have coded some dinky programs to teach myself a little syntax and some concepts like functions and classes, but I need some help!

Here it is- the big question (no, not THAT big question...)

Can anyone direct me to some good C++ resources? (on the net, in print, classes to take)  My first project in the works is a simple Pong clone, but I need some info on game physics and input.

*My reason for trying my hand at programming?  Because the way it looks now, the only way to land good jobs and careers in the future will be to have extensive technical experience.
I want to be where the Yaks can run free;
Where the marmosets can attack me!

A book called "Problem Solving with C++" by Walter Savitch is pretty good. But it's a textbook....

You have C++ Builder? That sort of easier but not much.
I'll get back to you on that one.
