This topic is not about Mario. It's not about Nintendo. It's not even about video games...It's about something much more important...n00bism. (Segregation against n00bs!) Frankly, I am sick and tired of people always picking on the n00bs. That's why I am creating the "n00bs Have Rights Foundation". (NHRF). We believe that n00bs are just trying to activley discuss Mario, just like you guys. The only reason that they may have ever said anything that offended you, is because you offended them in the first place by being n00bist.
Sure, I may soon not be a n00b anymore, and maybe I will be treated like a n00b for the rest of my carrer here, and maybe I will be kicked off the site for possibly starting a flame war, but I will go down while doing the RIGHT THING! I will go down sticking up for the little guys. (Including me.)
But, if I get some of you guys to have a change of heart, then we could start a new peaceful generation of a Fungi Forum that is open to everyone!

*patriotic music and flag rippling in background* If all ya'lls just listen to my plead, then maybe everyone including the n00bs will feel welcome. Who's with me? Who ain't?

I agree completely with ledseppelinrocks, but it was a little tacky I must say. I agree that people shouldnt pick on nOObs just because theyve been here longer and think there smarter than us nOObs. I dont care if you think you dumb, fat or complete idiots, we have just as many rights as you on this website, whether you like it or not.

NHRF!

Ahem, yes, n00bs do have rights. That doesn't give them permission to act out of line. If a newbie obeys the rules, we don't cause them trouble. If they are annoying however, that's another issue. I'm sorry if you feel that you have been wrongly accused of annoying behavior. Some people here tend to not notice which newbie is which, so they get mad at the wrong ones. If you've done anything like insult people or just acted annoying, that is why people are harsh towards you.

The word, "n00b" is starting to irritate me.
There is absolutely no reason why anyone should ever be a "n00b".
If you post responsibly, attempt to make your typing readable (not asking for pefection, just the effort), and do not hurl abuse at those you disagree with, I can guarantee you that there is not a member  of any internet community that will say:
"That guy is such a stupid n00b!"

Okay, I wont do anything to make this more of a flame war. And to clear things up, its not so much what forumers did to me, its what forumers did to one of my freinds here. (Who's also new). I just want to know who thinks that n00bs deserve more. No more flame war.

ED___it: The next person who can't spell "y'all" dies.... and thank you for telling us that this wouldn't have to do with Mario or video games... ALTHOUGH WE SORTA ALREADY KNOW THAT BECAUSE IT JUST SO HAPPENS TO BE IN GENERAL CHAT.

"...and you must be illeterate to not be able to read what i put up there."

Quite obviously not if you're doggin' him out because his opinion is against yours... and you can't even spell "illiterate" yourself...

Man, all I can say is that this is just about bull. Yeah, we get angered with the new kids on the block because of two reasons:

-TMK has had a bad history of bad newbies; hence, we don't fool around with newcomers.

-There has been an outrageous uproar of about 30 new people here; about half or so of them make countless and pointless topics, flame, make random, stupid, off-topic statements, etc.

Also, learn to take some jokes and a bit of rough housing. I didn't get to where I am now (registered over a year ago) without going through some little squabbles with some of the folks here and when the read this they're gonna think "yeah, good times, good times... of killing trainman." I've taken stuff from all kinds of people.. heck I'll even list a few: Vid, LD, Chup, MEGAߥTE, etc. etc. x3482340 ahahahaha they've given me some kind of harshness before, but it was most likely for a good reason. ;P

I learned to get over it... and if you folks haven't realized this yet, this is the internet. What can people do to you on the internet? No, I'm not saying this for a troublemaker's benefit (Ex. "yah so y do teh admins git mad wen i act st00pid??!?!?!111!!?") because everyone needs to know just a bit of netiquitte.. anyway, what I said needs to make you think "Life goes on, no need to get mad over a harsh joke or a bit of chastisement from someone... ESPECIALLY on the *internet.*"

And just for making this thread and giving you a not-supposed-to-be-taken-offensively joke just to spite you, you're a moron. jkjkjkjk

But in the future all of us should be nicer to the n00bs. Why should the old n00b's history reflect on us? Why? That's all I'm trying to say. Now does anyone agree with me?

How ironic, I'm using a sentence that confirms the use of reference...FOR REFERENCE!!!

Sorry, but I have one more thing to say, and I just HAD to do that ironic reference thing. But, I'm sorry if I've offended any of you. But, I still stand by my point that I have had too much of the smart-alek spelling corrections, me-getting-in-trouble-for-saying-one-thing-that-was-slightly-off-topic's, and unwritten rules that I never knew off that I get in trouble for. I just have 3 suggestions for Fungi Forums.

1. Make new rules dealing with how many threads per day, off-topic-ness, etc.

2. Cyber-bullying is a serious crime, and it should be punished here.

3. MOO! (I just had to say that.)

Maybe the rules that n00bs dont know, other than the ones that ARE written down, should be. Why should me plus other new peeps get in trouble for breaking rules that we we're never told of? Now all ya'lls agree or all ya'lls dont agree with me?

1. You can't blame someone for posting off-topic replies, annoying as it is. This point is perfectly valid.
2. Yes, people who bully are punished- if they do it enough, they are banned/suspended.

How ironic, I'm using
a sentence that confirms the use of reference...FOR REFERENCE!!!

There’s no irony behind that. There
are three types of irony: Situational, verbal, and dramatic. Situational
irony is the only kind of irony that that comment would fit into. And
even then it’s not quite there. Besides,
you’re not using his post for any reference whatsoever.

Sorry, but I have one
more thing to say, and I just HAD to do that ironic reference thing
.

No, you didn’t.

But, I'm sorry if
I've offended any of you.

Offend? No. Annoy?
Yes.

But, I still stand by
my point that I have had too much of the smart-alek spelling corrections,
me-getting-in-trouble-for-saying-one-thing-that-was-slightly-off-topic's, and
unwritten rules that I never knew off that I get in trouble for.

What I fail to understand is why people just can’t take
some time to actually think about and type their posts. For
long posts such as this, I use MS Word so that I don’t have to repeatedly go
back and edit my posts when I find mistakes. It’s
not that hard, really. It’s not
like you’re trying to beat a ton of people to make a comment. Besides,
even if what you had in mind was already said by someone else, making a good topic-related
response
is much more appreciated by people than some hard-to-comprehend,
off-topic, random response with no meaning whatsoever.

I just have 3
suggestions for Fungi Forums.

1. Make new rules
dealing with how many threads per day, off-topic-ness, etc.

2. Cyber-bullying is
a serious crime, and it should be punished here.

3. MOO! (I just had
to say that.)

1. People are free to create as many threads as they want
per day. There’s no limit.
If you can think of plenty of well-thought topic ideas, there should be
no real problem. As for posting
responses that actually have to do with the discussion, that’s just forum
etiquette.

2. If you think what you’re experiencing here is
cyber-bullying, you obviously don’t go to a lot of other forums. There
are places out there where cyber-bullying is a MAJOR problem. This
is the internet. Just like the real
world, there are lots of other people who have it worse than you. And
“cyber-bullies,” if present, are punished.
It’s called banning.

3. That’s an off-topic response. It
was unnecessary and irrelevant to the discussion. You
didn’t have to say that.

Maybe the rules that
n00bs dont know, other than the ones that ARE written down, should be.

The ones that aren’t “written down” are mainly forum
etiquette or just common sense. The
ones that are “written down” are just some ground rules that can be expanded
upon. If ALL of these rules were to
be listed, there would be a LOT of rules on the forum entrance page, most of
which could be condensed into the few that are present now.

Why should me plus
other new peeps get in trouble for breaking rules that we we're never told of?

Because it’s mainly common sense. There
are plenty of other people who can come in as new members and slowly enter
society without causing a ruckus. If
you really want, here are some rules that might help any other people joining
the Fungi Forums or even you.

-- Refrain from
creating introduction threads.
For
some reason, it seems to being the image that this newcomer wants attention and
whose presence always needs to be known. There
are always exceptions to this rule, as with any other rule. If
you can properly introduce yourself and leave a good first-impression, then all
is well.

-- Try to put some
effort in your posts.
It is nice
to put in your two cents, but it’s even nicer to actually read material rather
than some off-topic post.

-- The ‘edit’
button is your friend.
Use it.
Deletion of double posts, corrections of mistakes, changes of opinion,
and additions can all be done with this handy button that’s conveniently in
the likeness of a pencil. If your
post is the most recent one in a thread, use the edit button. It
helps to keep the board relatively uncluttered.

-- Make friends, not
enemies. At the very least, be a
moderate.
You’ll find that
attacking a forum veteran can usually result in a chain reaction against you.
Even contributing to the forum without taking sides on any issues can be
helpful. A good amount of people
usually appreciate this more than a greater amount of enemies.

-- Think.
This may sound obvious, but a lot of people just don’t get it. There
are so many people like that in the real world, so who needs them here too?
Put some thought into your posts, threads, and even arguments. It
helps people to better understand you, appreciate your efforts, and in the case
of arguments, strengthen your opinion.

Now all ya'lls agree
or all ya'lls dont agree with me?

I don’t agree with most of your thoughts, but that’s
just my opinion.

"There are no such things as stupid questions, just stupid people."

"...and Trainman, that was the cruelest post I have ever read."

Cruel?!?! AHHAAHAHAHHAHAAHAHAHAHHHAHAHAAHAH
OMG LOL LMBO AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH ROFFLE AHAHAHHAHAHAAHHAHAA

"Why should the old n00b's history reflect on us?"

As I already explained, TMK has had the bad history so when we see people getting uptight and/or being stupid we think "oh, deja vu all over again" and then we do something about it.

"Why?"

^read above response and we heard you the first ten times, my good sir.

"That's all I'm trying to say. Now does anyone agree with me?"

Um... no.

"I don't recall being rebellious."

Me neither. I never made an introductory thread either so led, etc. better not try and jump on that little oppurtunity to kill me.

"dude, why do you keep trying to diss ledzeppelinrocks by using some of his lame lines."

So we can pinpoint what we're giving points about instead of making it harder for the poser (figuring out which post it goes to, finding the post in the first place, etc.) Oh yeah, and nice way to back up your little buddy by calling his lines "lame." Yeah we can all do that... even you, because we're not morons.

"It's for reference, thank you."

Further backs up the ^above^ point.

"you guys are gonna start more than one flame war, trust me Ive been through more then one in my time."

Actually, most likely not because led is not a fool who is like "[wtd]ace y d00 j00 guyz giet mad at.. i mean wit mee?" He obviously has a brain and will not stoop down to that level of flaming. He even said he wants to avoid one. The vets here obviously don't want one either, so I doubt it. If anything, YOU'RE going to be the one starting the stupid flame war.

Also, what relevance did "trust me ive been through many" have in led's defense? First and foremost, who cares? Second, that just seemed like an attention grabber for a lame attempt to say "Yeah im cool im a net vet and i've been through flame wars, yah doggy g, im coo" or something foolish along those lines. Point of the matter: no one cares. We've all been through at least one.

"All im sayin is that your dissin someone by using their own lines, and by no means is that cool to anyone but you."

Um, ok.

"It’s not like you’re trying to beat a ton of people to make a comment."

Unless, of course, it's like "Name that Mario Game" or something.

"There’s no limit. If you can think of plenty of well-thought topic ideas, there should be no real problem. As for posting responses that actually have to do with the discussion, that’s just forum etiquette."

Although, there should be a limit common sense-wise because I remember when a select few made a topic about every little thing. I saw over 10 threads (13-15 I believe?) made by one person in one day with titles as dumb as "what's your take on captain crunch" then "how many fingers do you have" and "why does mario have a big nose" and why does mario have a mustache" and "why does mario have a hat" and "why is it red, then?" and "mario has a brother" and "if so, whats his name" and "does he have a mustache" and "does he have a hat, also?" and then "why is it that..." then you open the thread and it says "...oh, well, i dunno, i forgot."

"3. MOO! (I just had to say that.)"

Oh, yeah, and he freaks out about us being irrelevant.

"The ones that aren’t “written down” are mainly forum etiquette or just common sense."

GAH OMG, THANK YOU. A LOT of people just CAN'T grasp that common sense concept around here and mannerism.

led, I don't hate you by any means, but some of the things you're talking about are going just a bit too far. Take Forrest Gump's quote, "S*** happens." Just go with the flow and... flow.. over the.. bad, I guess.. I think... Anyway, trying to defend new guys around here that act stupid is just taking away possible respect from vets and other new guys alike. I'd just let it die down, let the dumb n00bs be banned, etc., and let the n00bs that are actually cool about things, like you seem to be, roam the forums as they please.
