- In the third mode, you can create your own Mushroom Kingdom using coins collected by playing the first two game modes.

This kinda sounds like it could be a level editor, but I'm gonna assume it's not so I'm not disappointed. I'm thinking it's just going to be like you have a little room that you can buy furniture for.

Iunno, it seems fun. Hope the Android version comes out before all the iPhone people stop playing it.

Consumers definitely have a responsibility to research what they're buying, but it really behooves companies to make things less obtuse, because once you get into trying to explain what a New 3DS is, a lot of people are just going to throw their hands up and go back to phone games instead of doing that research (the 2DS and the 3DS are the same thing but the DS is a different thing than them, and the 3DS and the New 3DS are not quite the same thing because the New 3DS can play this one game over here where the name of the console is at the top of the box? the difference between the 3DS and the New 3DS is that the New 3DS can play more old games than the Old 3DS (but the old games that you can play only on the New 3DS aren't the oldest games that you can play on the 3DS)?).

The NX should be called the New Nintendo.

I mean on the one hand it is kinda nice that most families can do basic multiplayer in most Wii U games by just pulling that bucket from ten years ago out from under the entertainment center again, but at the same time it doesn't do much to curb the confusion most people have about what exactly a Wii U is in relation to a Wii (I have had two separate people under the age of 20 tell me, unprompted and totally convinced, that Nintendo made both a Wii 2 and a Wii U, and the Wii U is actually the third Wii).

Weird things:

• Mario Maker 3DS has a mode that only works because other people are playing a version of the game on a different console
• Mario Maker 3DS isn't using amiibo support as a selling point to get people to buy New 3DSes. Do they think they have a better shot of getting people to buy Wii Us?
• Superstars has golf and tennis even though [or because?] there are already full Mario Golf and Mario Tennis games on the 3DS

Just asked a friend of mine who has the game; he confirmed it's one side. A lot of them were sold with SMB1 on the other side, but it can have anything on there and still work.

I do have to say, the Rescue V feel like they might have been intended as intentional callbacks to the Axem Rangers and the Koopa Bros., which is nice, and it's the closest Paper Mario has come to trying to be Paper Mario since 2007... but then they summon giant waves of Toads and it just feels like they're mocking us at this point.

If you want to hold out some hope, there's the fact that Color Splash started development pretty much immediately after Sticker Star shipped, so they didn't give themselves any time to listen to feedback (which was pretty stupid), so now if they make another one, this time they'll be ready to react to our feedback from 2012. But I'm pretty sure this is just what Paper Mario is going to be from now on.
