Mario Chat / Re: Cityscapes in the Marioverse (possible spoilers)

Yes, I've thought so too.  It also makes you wonder which one is the "true" castle.  Or maybe they all are, and they're just in different places?  Much like a summer or winter home.

And one explanation for the different houses could be that all the victorian style homes are relatively upper class in Toad society.  After all, they were right next to the castle (one of them, anyway).

But back on topic, I've always assumed that the towns we have seen so far have been in the country.  Possibly to help avoid being attacked by Bowser.  The less big land marks you have, the harder you are to find.  And maybe there are only a few real cities in the Mushroom Kingdom.  I would be tempted to call them megalopolises, if it weren't for the fact that I have no idea how big they are, nor how many inhabitants they contain.  ^_^()

And another big question for me is that if the Mushroom Kingdom obviously has phones and televisions and whatnot, then why does Princess Peach delegate seven kings to rules the other portions of the kingdom? (Super Mario Bros. 3)
If it were a true hierarchy, then that's not how it would work (I don't believe.  Correct me if I'm wrong).  But the Princess would be able to rule her subjects directly, via TV or other means, rather than, like I have said numerous times, resorting to from what I can tell as a feudalist government.

That's true, except for the blue koopa troopas.  When you pop them out of their shell, they just walk really hunched over.

You see round goombas in various little cameos every now and then.

There's a cameo of one in the nintendo puzzle collection.  And there was one in one of the GBA SP commercials.  The really interesting thing is that when you see them, their right next to a normal mushroom goomba.  So it's obvious that people acknowledge the existence of both simultaniously.  My thoughts on that are that the mushroom goombas evolved from, well, mushrooms.  Where as the round goombas, since they were seen on the Dinosaur Islands, evolved to look like the berries that the Yoshis eat.  They do have a very similar shape after all.

Anyway, back on topic.  Yeah I've always thought that maybe Bowser might have used magic to enhance them in some way.  Another theory is that the bipedal Koopas are also native to the Dinosaur Islands, since they were first seen there both in universe and out of universe.

True.  But then that begs the question, why were they quadrapeds in Super Mario Bros. 1 through 3?

I'm not saying it's a bad thing that they're bipedal now, I'm just trying to figure out why the change occured.

And I think they were only called creepers in the original Mario Bros. game.

Here, I found a pic.

It's a really old one.  Probably from a beta level that they decided not to include.

I think it's a valid question.  In my opinion, they were probably carrying military supplies like bullet bills and bo-bombs and stuff.  And I would agree with popple, I don't think they were always flying low with their anchors down, they just happened to be docked (possibly unloading cargo?) when Mario/Luigi comes to the rescue, and they aren't quick enough in pulling away.  Thus allowing Mario/Luigi access to the ship.

"So if it can be cut like hair, why do all the mushroom people wear the same hairdo? I'd love to see a mushroom person with their mushroom cap "carved" into some shape, like a Mohawk or something."

Well if the mushroom is actually a portion of their head, then it probably would be a good idea to carve it up.  I mean, I know that realistic biology isn't often considered in the Mario universe, but I would imagine that the mushroom portion of their head would contain their brain or something.  That's just what I think, anyway.

I always figured he just threw the koopa kids in the dungeon for failing so many times, and then had kamek clone him.  Thus creating his ideal heir, Bowser Jr.

I personally think it should be a 3D side scroller, like the Mushroom Kingdom level in Smash Bros. Melee.  And of course, they need to bring back the Koopa Kids ^_^.
