Whooooo!  Capcom rules!!

An arcade game, huh?  Interesting.  I wonder what style of game it'll be.  Probably Jungle Beat style, with the bongos and everything.

This seems like a perfect moment to do some shameless advertising ^_^.  Blue Toad, if you're interested in stuff like origins of races and stuff like that, then you might wanna check out my Mariology site: http://kamikazekoopa.proboards38.com/

Or at least my Mariology thread here in the Fungi Forums.

I might enjoy a T-rated Mario game, depending on what makes it "T-rated".  If they do it just so they can show off Peach in a thong or something, then I'll pass.  But if the only thing that makes it T-rated is some action scenes and a little more fighting (ala SSBM), then I'd be all for it.  And I don't have anything against violence and sexuality in games because that's how things are in reality.  The more realistic a game is, the better.  Although when games go so overboard as to making things rediculously unrealistic, that's when it gets stupid (I'm looking at YOU, Mortal Kombat).

I was gonna write a fanfic where Bowser opened a dimensional rift into the Sonic universe (or Robotnik opened a rift to the Marioverse, either way) and Bowser and Robotnik joined forces so Mario and Sonic had to team up and stop them.  I was going to use Robotnik's intrusion into the Marioverse as an explanation for the sudden appearence of  technology.  ^_^

In short, I'd like to see them allies at some point.  Although, not permanently or anything.

Nobody, but it's just curious that we've heard nothing on it.  I would have at least expected to see it in the E3 DS line up.

That's a pity.  I was actually looking forward to it.

Nope, as far as I know it's an actual title.  I'm kinda surprised that they didn't mention it during E3, though.  Do you think it was cancelled?

I just keep saying that there's spoilers as a precaution in case somebody doesn't want to know these kinds of details.  It's just a back up.

And I say the graphics look kind of bad because they just seem really jagged to me.  I know exactly what they were trying to do.

*more spoilers* (surprise surprise)

Ok, I just watched a new video of the game in action (which can be found here: http://www.gamespot.com/ds/action/supermariobrosds/media.html  ) and it seems to me as though the game has a  two player co-op mode, allowing both players to control each brother simultaneously.  If you watch the video, it shows Mario and Luigi both acting completely independant of one another, sometimes running completely off screen on their own.  This leads me to believe that it either utilizes the wireless connectivity of the DS, or it's got one dang good AI system.  I'm thinking it's the former ^_^.  Anyway, the video also shows the that mushroom which tranforms Mario into gigantic form is actually a giant Super Mushroom in and of itself.  So, I'm assuming that they'll have both regular Super Mushrooms as well as these new Giant Mushrooms.  Anyway, watch the video and you'll see what I mean.  It's the one that says "Super Mario Bros. DS (working title) Official Movie 1".

*More spoilers!!*

While we're on the topic of these new Mario games, is it just me or does Mario Bros DS look really bad graphics wise?  Hopefully they'll fix that by the time it comes out.  I do, however, like the fact that they seem to have taken a page from Donkey Kong Country's book and allow you to play as both brothers at the same time.  Here's a link to the pics if you want to see:

http://www.gamespot.com/ds/action/supermariobrosds/screenindex.html

Most of the screens show Luigi following right behind Mario, much in the vain of DK and Diddy from Donkey Kong Country.  If it will actually play out the same way is the real question, though.  Another thing I noticed is that they seem to have made Super Mushrooms act the same way they did in SM64DS, in the way that they make Mario gigantic and invincible as opposed to just a little bit larger and stronger.  Although, in  a couple of the screens it seems that the bros have been shrunken down, much like how it was in the original games when you got hit.  My question is this, since it seems as though they can reach three seperate sizes this time around (small, normal, and gigantic) do you think they have the normal Super Mushroom (in order for them to reach normal size) as well as a more powerful Mushroom (in order for them to reach gigantic size)?

lol True.  Not to mention Super Mario Bros. DS and Super Princess Peach.  I still think they're going a bit overboard on the sports, though.  Now we're gonna be seeing twenty more Mario Strikers and Mario Baseball sequals.

"I wonder if they mean only Nintendo made games or any games altogether."

They said that it was going to work for all of them, not just the first party ones.  Although, I may be mistaken.
