na, oil is the result of rampant speculation.

Drilling in ANWR or whereever in the US would drop oil prices and have zero effect on the price of a gallon of gas.

Oh please. Iraq had NOTHING to do with spreading democracy. Why do you think we haven't invaded Zimbabwe yet?

The U.S. govinmit estimates the value of a human life at ~$100k. multiply that by 4,200 or whatever the U.S. death toll in Iraq is (never mind the death toll of the Iraqis, they aren't real people in the govinmit's eyes anyways) and you get about 420 million. Where did that money go? Or more accurately, who got the money from these "sales" of U.S. soldiers' lives?

Remember, gas was ~1.40 a gallon when Dubya declared war on Iraq. A dollar was worth about 1.15 euros. Now gas is over $4 and the dollar is worth 0.64 euros. But what's 4,000 lives and an economic collapse if your buddies get rich, right?

The day that people actually stop arguing about global warming (and pointing fingers at who's right and who's wrong) will be the day that we actually do something about it.

Which will never happen.

I KNEW picking 2081 was too late D:

Also, one trend I see with a lot of "pro-life" people is that life is only worth saving before birth. Once you're born, you have less value than a faetus. What, some guy raped you, and the pregnancy got complicated to the point where having the baby will likely kill you? Too bad. That's what you get for being female. You probably deserved it.

Now, no one on these forums is this extreme, not even close. Living in Indiana, though, I've heard stuff like that more times (read, more than zero) than I'd like to admit. I see bumper stickers that say things like "abortion stops a beating heart" which are stupid; if you haven't aborted the faetus by the time the heart forms you DON'T WANT an abortion for whatever reason. I've read things about "fake" abortion clinics which are fronts for religious groups to beat (on rare occasions, literally) into your head that abortion is murder. The "holier than thou" stance that a lot of the more outspoken pro-lifers take is hypocritical trash.

Also, the feasibility of 7 billion people living in Texas is essentially zero.

I also believe that humans do not inherently have dignity. Then again, I'm a hyper-logical person and empathy has practically zero weight in the decisions I make, so whatever.

I have 2081 in the "Extinction of the Human Race" betting pool at work, by the way.

The other 99% wouldn't have been necessary if they had used a condom or just not had sex at all

The former may be impossible soon (those fervently against abortion will be most likely to found/shop at these stores. Note than in trailer trash Indiana and other rural areas, these stores may be the ONLY option for people), and the latter will never happen thanks to human nature.

And yes, a "murder" today may not have been one 30 years ago. Science changes. Hopefully societial moral codes change too, but that seems about as likely as my head actually exploding when I hit "Post".

Wait, there's actually 9 people on this forum that are pro-choice?

I'm not going to argue this, because both sides are arguing for completely different reasons (personal freedoms vs. moral issues) and absolutely nothing that I say, at all, will ever convince a pro-lifer to switch sides. I personally think that if a woman is raped, there's no reason she should ever have to rear a child that's going to be raised by herself and have half the genes of a violent felon. I'd probably change my views on this somewhat if the adoption process wasn't a complete farce.

I will say that abortion is -NOT- murder if the faetus would not have survived outside of the mother.

- Society's screwed up
 - Your future is determined by a single letter (or number)
 - Religion is slowly brainwashing people
 - Schools are starting to ruin even more lives than before

3/4. Not bad.

I've never been in love and never will be loved by a woman. I'm already making preparations to be a life long bachelor. No, really.

uhhhh

I was like this at a older age than you are

yet now I'm in a very happy relationship with no signs of ever ending.

I would never, ever want to be a vagabond, ever. I can't go up to random people for favors and I also hate instability in life.

The sex offender thing is 100% true, it all depends on where you're caught. I was once sent to jail for minor consumption, while literally everyone I know who has been caught drunk underage just got sent home, at worst forced to dump their booze. It took me 6 months and about $700 to fix it when I was caught because I got caught in Hickville Tourist Trap, Indiana.

Same idea for urinating in public, most of the time you won't get anything more than a slap on the wrist but rarely your life gets ruined to the point where suicide becomes a viable option.

There are only two events that could happen to me in life where I'd consider killing myself. Being put on the sex offender list is one of them.

Or when it's literally against the law to live anywhere because you got put on the sex offender list for urinating in public. And good luck even getting a job with a felony on your record. Wonder why so many criminals commit more crimes? Because the law prevents them from EVER being re-instituted into society. Ever.

Also mental illness has a lot to do with it.

As for this thread, I just got to Hartford a week ago and I already saw Harmonica Man. He stands outside the McDonald's across the street and plays harmonica. There's supposedly another one who plays saxophone... which makes me wonder how a homeless man can afford a saxophone.

I hate the toilet seats in a lot of public toilets, the ones with the really steep (like 30 degree) grade. It's uncomfortable and way to hard to, you know, do what you came in there to do.

hahaha what

I'm so incredibly torn between making another ridiculous toilet thread or not. I mean, the potential for humor is massive, but I don't need to clog the front page with more toilet threads. It'd be like when everything was The WORD thread: discuss something here!

...heh heh, clog.
