But there's 3 references to the Mario universe nonetheless.

I only observed two, but Suffix said there were three. I watch it again later when I'm less tired.

I'm not sure this is right but could the landscape in the mexican wresler and the ugly one making out sceen count, as a reference to super mario land on GB.?

In SBEmail-Technology, click on CA when Strong Bad (Mexican Wrestler Dude of Coolness) says "Corn Army" instead of California. The Corn Army is no match for a mighty warrior!

After the one where King of Town is Mario, you can click on him and play "Super Kingio Bros", which is sad because it is impossible to jump over the oncoming goomba... and the one where the Cheat is Toad, at the end you can click on him and he says, "Here we go! Ah-wo-wo-wo-wo!"
