No such thing as a nerd, geek, anything.
I am one of the more "popular" people in school (now.) Because I know a whole lot about Mario and games, dosen't make me a nerd. I am pretty "cool" at school, and I like to play games.
Does that make me a nerd?
NO!
I believe that anyone can like games and still have a high social status, liking whatever they want. It is mainly the way you present yourself. You can make yourself look like a "wierdo" by acting smart and omniscent at the wrong times. However, if brains (or anything, for that matter) are allpied at the right time, they can be a powerful ally.
Scenario time:
Sitting in the cafateria one time at lunch, my friends and I started discussing nonsense, like usual. I said, "I whipped out the NES the other night," and we began a long conversation about video games. Later we worked our way to N64, when we talked about Goldeneye. I brought up Mario 64, and they all aggreed that it ranks up there as a great game. By the time we got to the Cube, they had learned a lot about Mario from me. And many of them admitted that the cube is definately one of the better systems out there, and Nintendo has the best Game Series: Zelda, Mario, Metriod, Ect....
So, in conclusion, there is no such thing as a nerd, geek etc. It is how you present yourself. YOu can have the qualities of a "nerd" or "geek," but can stull be pretty "cool."
That is what I firmly believe.
