Site Discussion / Help wanted
« on: July 05, 2003, 01:09:48 PM »
I'm looking for someone to maintain the fan art and fan fiction pages, with the option to head up Flash movies if we ever get any.

Requirements

HTML skills

Paint Shop Pro or Adobe Photoshop

ICQ or AIM account

Stable internet connection (broadband preferred)

Lots of free time

Basically you will be logging in to an e-mail account, collecting files, updating the pages, and sending updates to me (you will not have FTP access to TMK). Fan fiction will have to be proof-read and formatted.

* Note that you won't get paid anything for working on the site because I don't make anything for working on the site.

If you're interested in the job, please reply to deezer@kontek.net and include a quick rundown of Mario games owned.

Site Discussion / HTML enabled everywhere

I guess the limited HTML testing period has gone well, so I've turned on HTML in all forums. Let's not break the board, guys.

See topic. General Chat is the pilot location for HTML use in the forums. Thanks to CashCrazed's brilliant suggestion, HTML tags that can potentially "break" the board have been censored. This list includes HTML, HEAD, STYLE, BODY, SCRIPT, DIV, TABLE, TR, TD, and all end tags thereof.

If things go well, I will enable HTML throughout the Fungi Forums.

The secret page has returned to its original place, and is easier to find.

A hint: Reference.

And now there's actually something to look at in the secret area. :)

Video Game Chat / Gameheadz
« on: April 17, 2003, 10:21:15 AM »
Did anyone catch the "Gameheadz" video game documentary on TLC last night? It was basically a movie of the book "Game Over" by David Scheff, crunched down to an hour. That's not to say it wasn't good. However, I was disappointed that they talked over what little they showed of Miyamoto playing the Mario theme on his guitar. :(

If you missed it, they re-ran it at midnight (Central time), so they'll probably rerun it a few more times this month. Check your local listings, because I can't find mine. They probably have a schedule on their website too.

Site Discussion / PC and ZZT games
« on: March 05, 2003, 10:35:59 PM »
The PC and ZZT games had to go. The IDSA (representing Nintendo) contacted the owners of ClassicGaming, declaring that said games infringed Nintendo's rights.

They also listed the PC and ZZT WEBPAGES as infringing material as well, so to be on the safe side they will be "404 Not Found" for a bit.

Please do not submit any more of these types of games, as I obviously will not be able to have them on the site. Sorry.

TRM: Four-player battles in Mario Kart 64, Star Fox 64, and Super Smash Bros. were THE most fun I've ever had while playing video games. But the SNES has tons of great games, so I guess the N64 and SNES are tied. :P

Info on this CD is scarce. I'd love to see a scan and/or track list... anyone? :)

Peach was referred to as "Princess Toadstoool." Bowser was "Bowser, King of the Koopas." They showed pictures of all the enemies and items, but they were just enlarged sprites from the game. There was a small bit of artwork that was rather mediocre.

Hmm, anyone have the manual(s) for the Japanese SMB1, 2, or 3? I'd love to see those. :)

If Luigi was truly in SM64, I'm sure one the GameShark-savvy players would've found him by now.

Yume Koujou   Doki Doki Panikku
The first part is "Dream Factory." Panikku is "Panic," obviously. Dokidoki is what the Japanese associate to the sound of a heartbeat, so a reasonable translation is "Nervous."
