Recently, every time I try to connect through mIRC or Java I keep getting an error message reading "Unable to connect to server: Connection timed out". How do I fix this?

General Chat / I'm going away! Signed, TMK member
« on: June 24, 2004, 12:59:31 PM »
This is the topic in which whenever someone wants to tell his fellow members he is going away on a vacation, he can post his message here instead of creating a whole new topic about it.

My message is a little late, but I'll tell you anyway: I am away from my home in Rhode Island and have settled for a week at my grandparents' home in the national capital, Washington, DC. My grandfather let me use his computer for surfing the internet. So I can talk to you all here.

Well, that's my late message. BTW, does anybody live here in Washington, DC?

Video Game Chat / Super TMK World

That's right. I'm making a SMW hack using Lunar Magic, and it will be based on TMK. The hack may not have complete graphic hacking, but the levels and names will be changed to suit TMK's atmosphere.

It will include TMK's staff and various regulars. One change is that "Mario" will be played by Lizard Dude. There has been much controversy in the chatroom about whom should really "be" Mario, but I picked Lizard Dude for he likes to dress up as Mario much often. Peach will be played by Sapphira, whom gets captured by Bowser, or in this case, (taken out). Deezer and I have agreed that Yoshi will be played by (Fifth). I haven't decided whom JJ, David, MegaByte, or Mushroom Boy will be played as. Deezer will be "in the background", in other words, he supplies the information one may need to proceed, like he does everyday on the site. Deezer and I also agreed that some of the Koopalings will be played by various banned people, like (taken out) and (taken out). There are other people I'm planning to find roles for, requesting in the chatroom.

Here are some URLs to screenshots. Please note that the hack is still in development, and some features could be added or deleted later. I may get more screenshots soon. :)

General Chat / What does your voice sound like?

Just curious. I wonder what a forum member would sound like if you were actually talking to him or her. If you want to know what my voice sounds like, go here:

It's also where I have my school picture of myself. You hear my voice as "background music" only once, when the page completes loading. I say "This is what I sound like." How about the rest of you?

I told you I would shoot, but you didn`t believe me! WHY DIDN`T YOU BELIEVE ME?!!

How do you beat Bowser in the last sequence of the battle in Story Mode?

Narrator: As the summer passed on Uncle Jim''s farm, everything seemed to be growing. The corn was knee-high on George when he came, now it''s taller than he is.
Tom Servo: George is clearly shrinking!

Mario Chat / Cheating AI makes me angry.
« on: December 27, 2003, 07:09:06 PM »
Why does Nintendo put Cheating AI into the Mario Kart series? Is it because the CPU players are sore losers? Mario Kart: Double Dash!! has serious Cheating AI problems. For example, all of you who have played this game know that if the Red Shell misses the player it's going for, it keeps going and crashes into a wall or something, BUT when I was playing the "All Cup Tour" and in the "Bowser's Castle" course, the CPU player behind me shot a Red Shell and missed me as I was jumping over the ramp before the Finish line. THEN it landed on the track in front of me, it moved in the opposite direction all of the sudden and started circling so it would try to hit me anyway! But it missed me; HA HA HA! YOUR LITTLE PLAN WAS THWARTED! And Green Shells just appear out of nowhere in from of me as I near the Finish Line.

Mmmmm, good white, hearty, white bread for white, white people!

Site Discussion / How Did You Discover TMK?
« on: December 13, 2003, 06:26:17 AM »
I remember how I did, in March 2001. I was looking up downloads for my favorite game at the time, The Sims, and somehow got back into thought about the Mario cartoons. I stopped searching for The Sims downloads, and started searching for information about the cartoons. I stumbled upon www.smbhq.com, where I found all of my cartoon info. I looked at the Links section, and the first on the list was THE MUSHROOM KINGDOM, stating how it is the best Mario site made. So I clicked there, and here I am.

Mario Chat / Post your SMB2 Glitches Here!
« on: November 21, 2003, 01:45:19 PM »
Here's a glitch I saw in this game:

Go to a room where there is a key and a Phanto (This room should only be entered through a door, not a vase. World 1-3 is a good example.) Pick up the key so Phanto awakes. Exit the room and re-enter it. Phanto will come alive AGAIN and the Phanto from before will come into the screen, and you have two Phantos chasing you! But when you leave the room or die, it's only one again. And yes, this has been fixed in SMAS... sort of. I mean, Phanto will come alive again, but another one won't appear.

Does anybody find any glitches in this game?

Post your "You Know You Play Mario Games Too Much When..." here. Here's some of mine:

-Your teacher speaks in gibberish.
-You go to bed each night with a vacuum cleaner.
-You smash all of your mother's bottles of perfume on the floor to see if a door appears.
-You kiss the television during a "memorable" Mario moment.
-You try to wash graffiti off with just a hose.
-You get rid of vermin in your home by using bombs.
-You attempt to die while falling into a cannon to see if you become the living dead.

Who agrees that Toad's line is one of the most famous lines in the TMK forum? If it is, The Big Boo should have all the credit for giving life to the line.

If Johnny has 3 apples and Davey has 2 apples, why won't they both just shut up and eat?

What gender is everyone here at the forums? It's about time we know if one person we were talking to was male or female. I'm male.

If Johnny has 3 apples and Davey has 2 apples, why won't they both just shut up and eat?
