Video Game Chat / Re: South Park offensive to gamers?
« on: October 18, 2006, 06:19:35 PM »
Are you sure they're gamers? They supposedly didn't know about Mega Man when they came up with the action figures the SP kids play with.

Well, I'm sure Try knows about Mega Man, but judging by the fact that he's a fan of Japanese culture, he probably prefers calling him Rockman. Still, I'm not sure about that one, seeing how I've never asked him, let alone, talked to him period. :P

Yeah, Drawn Together is horrible in my opinion, not because of sick content, but lack of any clever humor whatsoever.

Agreed. The show relies on shock humor rather than clever writing.

Anyway, offensive to gamers? Nah. I mean, Trey and Matt themselves are gamers (as both of them have Xbox 360's and are interested in the Wii...I saw it in an article). Besides, if it was really THAT offensive, Blizzard probably wouldn't have given them permission to use machinima based on the game in the episode.

Video Game Chat / Re: Goriest Game
« on: October 12, 2006, 08:10:42 PM »
I'd have to go with RE4 as the goriest game I've played. Even I was shocked by the gore (enspecially when the Leatherface wanna-be saws off Leon's head), though I've played the MK games (though the gore in those games is made at a lighter tone).

Here is my information:

Name: JacobLL
Friend Code: 5240-5927-1616
Town: Ass Town (and by that I mean a donkey, not an actual buttocks. I even have a picture of a donkey as a flag :) ).

Also, I want some stuff from the boxing theme. I already have some stuff.

As for stuff I have, well, I have so much it's hard to tell, but I'd like to point out that my town does grow peachs (man, are they way to common).

Yeah, I know that. That is why I said "it does not look right on Rare's Donkey Kong". I mean, I don't have a problem with him smiling, but couldn't he smile like this at least?

Or if with an open mouth, without the teeth?

Mario Chat / Re: donkey kong games are so lame now
« on: May 28, 2006, 10:21:37 AM »
I loved DK64. Sure, it was basically Banjo-Kazooie with the whole cast replaced and more collectables added, but I liked that. At least it's not up to it "butt" in Shine Sprites.

Ha ha ha, sorry, I couldn't resist. But either way, I also loved DK64. I thought collecting all of that stuff was fun rather than tedious like most find it. Oh, and I also liked the DK Rap, but I hated the SSBM version, and not just because they replaced the word "hell" with "heck".

As for the games being lame now, that all depends on wether you liked Rare's DK games or Nintendo's more.

Mario Chat / Re: Super Smash Bros. Character Suggestions
« on: May 28, 2006, 09:47:07 AM »
While we're at it with 3rd party characters, the thing that would make me happy for the rest of my life in terms of games, would be for Nintendo to get permission from Rare to stick Banjo and Kazooie in there.

That would be nice, but I highly doubt that we happen, since Microsoft owns Rare. There is already a ban on any Rare games that don't star Donkey kong on the Wii's Virtual Consle, so this makes the chances of Banjo and Kazooie's appearence in the game little-none.

Anyway, here are some other characters I would like if they appeared in the game:

Diddy Kong- Come on, he desearves it the most (well, along with Wario at least). Now that he's 100% owned by Nintendo, there is no excuse not to have him in the game.

Dixie Kong- If they have her in the game aswell, I'd rather have her as a seperate character than teamed up with Diddy, mainly because I wasn't exactly a huge fan of the Ice Climbers.

Sonic the Hedgehog- They might as well have him in the game, since he's more suiting for than Solid Snake.

Punch-Out!! Characters- Have Little Mac in the game. Have Soda Popinski. Have Bald Bull. Heck, even Glass Joe, Gabby Jay or Doc Louis (who isn't even a boxer). It doesn't matter what character you have in the game, just put any of them in.

Son Goku- Okay, so this is extremely unlikely, but Nintendo did publish Jump Superstars in Japan.

MissingNo.- Face it, Nintendo: MissingNo. is a Pokemon and you know it. Again, this would be highly unlikely, but come on, who wouldn't want to play as MissingNo.?

Wind Waker Link- I know WW wasn't exactly a huge fan favorite among Zelda fans, but despite what I've said before I started to have my own opinion, I did like it. I think WW Link would make a good substitute for Young Link for several reasons.

Also, here are some new stages I'd like to have:

PokeFloats 2- This time, with more Pokemon and such, but hopefully, little to no Ruby and Sapphire Pokemon.

Glitch City/MissingNo.'s Lair- As the name says, it would be based off of Glitch City, but would actually be MissingNo.'s home. Sometimes, things would go wrong, such as characters transforming into other characters, and such, but it would not effect MissingNo.

World Video Boxing Association Arena- Like it says, the boxing arena from Punch-Out!!. It could have alot of crazy things happening, like random boxers coming in to constantly punch at you and your opponent, as well as the ***** stole my, er, I mean the song that plays when Little Mac is jogging while Doc Louis is riding a bike while passing the Statue of Liberty.

Kastle Krush- As Mr. Wiggles had suggested, the castle from DKC2 in which the floor keeps going up. To make it even more challenging, you have to dodge all of the Kremlings that come through. Basically, it would be like the Ice Cliber level in Melee, but better.

Greenhill Zone- Obviously, the first stage from the first Sonic the Hedgehog game. The main obsticle in this stage is trying to dodge Dr. Eggman's attacks, which range from missle to a wrecking ball.

I'll think of more later.

Okay. Being a fan of the DKC series, let me warn you, what I'm about to say may be considered highly opinionated:

No, infact, I think they did better than Nintendo does. Before Rare got a hold of him, he was just a "stubborn ape" and would have only starred as a villian or made a few guest appearances (not too mention, Kamek would have been in Mario Kart 64 instead of DK. I like Kamek, personally, but not as much as DK). Also, they introduced some new loavable characters, like Diddy Kong and even Lanky Kong. However, I will admit that I like Namco's Donkey Konga (as I even bought it recently, mostly for when DK Bongo Blast get's released though) and I can't really judge Donkey Kong Jungle Beat or DKa2 too much, since I have not played them enough, but I will say that I absolutely hate the toothy grin style of DK.

I know the DK character has had a toothy grin since the first games, but too me, the toothy grin just doesn't look right on Rare's design for DK. He looks like a psychotic freak who's about to beat the crap out of you.

Edit:
Quote
I'm holding out hope that if Diddy Kong Racing DS is successful, Nintendo allows Rare to develop Donkey Kong Country 4.

Eh, I don't think that could happen either way. I believe they are only able to create ports of thier older DK games. However, DK King of Swing is pretty much the official sequal to DK64, since it contains elements from the older games.

Lizard Dude has a point. Besides, they were originally going to be exclusive to Gamecube.

Also, while it isn't violent or exclusive (or good even :P), Gamecube also had BMX XXX, with the nudity unblured (strange, since the PS2 version was censored).

Video Game Chat / Re: Xbox Live GamerTags
« on: April 19, 2006, 07:08:27 PM »
I sometimes go on Live, and when I am, I'm known as....wait for it...Glorb. I mostly either play Halo 2 (with my friends, not the psycho screaming 8-year-old racist crazies) or assorted other FPSes. But usually, my online fix is the FF, as everyone here is actually nice.

Heh, something like that happened to me once. I was playing a quick game in Halo 2, and this kid was being all immature and singing and stuff like that (not racist, though). For some reason, though, he was beating us, so I speculate that he may have been a modder.

I just realised something. If the title of this thread had the word "life" between the "this" and the ".", he'd totally sound emo. And not "Crawling" emo, but "Untitled/How Could this Happen to Me" emo.

I have to agree wth Sapphira, Mr. Wiggles and eveyone else. You need to quit that. It's bad enough you were constantly switching your opinions about Microsoft/Xbox back in the day.
