If you look at the patent for the Virtual Console, one of the drawings specifically mentions Mario RPG. That's pretty encouraging, especially with Nintendo and Square getting back together again. It's also been rumored for a while now that you'll be able to download VC games to a DS. Ideally, there'd be some way to save it onto a blank cartridge or something, but I doubt it. Still, there's a pretty good chance you'll be able to play SMRPG on a DS before too long, and I've seen SNESs on eBay for more than the $330 for a Wii and DS.

...And it's still not on the Virtual Console. And it's also still impossible to emulate SMRPG on the DS ourselves. Or so I hear.

Wonder if that stage is like Mushroomy Kingdom, and it can randomly be the other DK levels. Doubt it, though, since that is the most interesting level.

If that 27 Assist Trophies thing is true, that's pretty lame. Especially since there are almost 600 regular trophies. Would it really take up that much space on the disk to add some simple skeletons, scripts, and hitboxes for a couple dozen of those trophies?

I know a guy named David who goes by Vid instead of Dave.

I suppose Avi would also be an option.

I think I remember them explaining that somewhere, though I can't find it now. IIRC, they pretty much said that since Link's Awakening was all a dream, it doesn't really matter where it goes, and you can put it anywhere you want. You could even say that one is the original version and one is the Game Boy Color version.

At the end of OoT, Zelda sends Link back in time and age to before he took the stones. Then, the Zelda back then calls Link to the castle and tells him her plan. Link remembers what happens and tells her not to get the Stones, and tells the King that Ganondorf is evil. Ganondorf flees the King's guards, only to come back about 100 years later in Twilight Princess. MM happens after Ganondorf leaves.

Meanwhile, the adult Zelda who sent Link back is still in the ruined Hyrule. This never happens in the other timeline, since Ganondorf was temporarily thwarted, but that doesn't eliminate this timeline. With no Link, this Ganon comes back somehow. The gods flood Hyrule, and Wind Waker happens a couple hundred years later.

Apparently Miyamoto and Aonuma actually have a timeline, and might reveal it someday, but until then, there are a couple thousand different theories. My favorite one is this one: http://bszelda.zeldalegends.net/timeline.shtml

I still don't see what place ROB has in a collection of video game characters, considering he's a hardware peripheral whose sole purpose of existence was to disassociate Nintendo with video games. I'm sure he'll be a cool character, but it seems like Sakurai thinks for some reason that the roster already has all the video game characters anyone could ever want, so he can go and pick something completely different to fill a spot.

And Wolf's inclusion, especially as the last character to unlock, just rubs it all in. I can understand Falco having the exact same Final Smash as Fox, but... this is like giving Bowser the same Final Smash as Peach. If the roster is smaller than it could have been because of time constraints, why not just delay it again? I'd wait another month for two or three more good characters. If this is really the last Smash ever, doesn't it deserve to be perfect, especially in the area that the series was created for?

But you know, I'm glad that I spoiled myself, because now I can take February to get over it. There really is a huge amount of content in the game, and I did still get several of my most wanted characters (Sonic, Olimar, WW Link [I refuse to call him Toon Link. When the localization team changes Koopa to Bowser, changing Toon Link to Young Link better be next on their list], and Overalls Wario). I'm really looking forward to the Masterpieces thing for some reason, especially since it means Earthbound is unofficially coming to the Virtual Console... and possibly Mother 3 (in fact, maybe the huge difference between the Japanese and American delays was to finish localizing Mother 3, though I certainly wouldn't stake my life on something that involved Nintendo doing something expensive to please a small group of fans).

Wanna talk worthless characters? I'd say Pokemon Trainer, King Dedede and Ike are all pretty worthless. I mean, we've already got two playable Pokemon, two Kirby characters (Metaknight stays 'cause he pwns), and one Fire Emblem character. To me, that's wasted space; you could replace any of those three with a playable Ridley and improve the game's awesomeness by 21%. If R.O.B. were the final boss I'd be a little peeved, but no one's being forced to play as him. Although you should, because he's awesome.

We've already got one Metroid character, too. Actually, two, if you count the nude version. So your argument is that they're worthless because you don't like them. And even if you don't like Pokemon, calling PT worthless is pretty harsh. What other character is three characters?

If anyone's worthless, it's Wolf. Fox doesn't need another clone, especially one who could have just been a color change and had his slot given to someone with a unique moveset, like Krystal, Geno, Isaac, Dr. Kawashima, K.Rool, Dixie, a third third-party character, etc.

Got a couple years to spare? Read this site. Always good for a laugh, as long as you don't try to fully comprehend the fact that she actually believes it all.
