<Vidgmchtr> Who wants to pronounce the alphabet phonetically?
<Vidgmchtr> Abcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxyz
<EclipsedMoon> Not I.

Fungi Forums, I challenge you to do what EclipsedMoon could not.

If you've got Windows XP, open Control Panel, go to Speech and put that in to hear how Microsoft thinks it should be pronounced. It sounds surprisingly close to how Vid pronounced it there.

Statistics are like a bikini: What they reveal is suggestive but what they conceal is vital.

Hahahaha, that speech thing. I could entertain my younger sister for quite a while using that. She supposively talked to the computer.

It's a pity it didn't have any more voices. I looked into the Disablity section in Microsoft's downloads, but sadly, I lack Chupperson's research skills.

Fooling younger siblings isn't always a good idea.  My brother did that "talk to the computer" trick, and the voice said "I'm going to get you, Mark", and I had nightmares and woke up crying because I thought I was going to die.

I never claimed it was hard.  I just didn't want to pronounce the alphabet phonetically.  I also don't know why LD said I *could* not.

Makes it more dramatic that way.

Don't worry, Markio. Not only am I not that kind of brother, my sister is too smart to believe that the computer's actually talking to her. My incessant typing is somewhat suspicious...

There was a song on Sesame Street that Big Bird sang. He pronounced it phonetically.

I actually thought of that a while ago. The actor must have spent quite a lot of time practicing that one.

Then again, I got scared a lot when I was little, when I saw that episode of Barney and Friends where he got tangled in a jump rope, I ran away crying saying, "Barney's going to die!"

Hahaahahaha. I remember thinking one of my brother's friends was one of the kids who was on that show because he looked a lot like him. So one day I asked him how he got on that show, and his mom laughed at me. º-º

I meant pronounce phonetically, not spell phonetically. No one has done it yet.
