I have ANGST because I have been having trouble for the last two months involving my computer and my mp3 player. I had been using the two (Windows XP OS, custom-built computer; Creative Labs Zen V Plus 2 GB mp3 player) without any troubles at all ever since I received the mp3 player as a gift for Christmas '06. But one day, when my friend came over with his mp3 player, which was the same one (albeit his was a SanDisk m230 512 MB and mine was an m240series 1 GB) as my previous mp3 player (I still had the software from it), his wouldn't connect. We tried and tried, but nothing happened.
Then, once I got a few more music albums, I decided I should put those in and take some old ones out. However, as I connected the player, it turned on instead of going to the standby mode for transferring mp3s and WMAs (the same thing that had happened with the last player). I've uninstalled and reinstalled the software many times over, but I get the same result, which the computer says is a hardware problem. Unless it means a hardware problem with the computer itself, it's not possible that the problem lies within the mp3 player, as it and a totally different one both did not connect with the computer.
So, I've tried everything. Other USB ports, blowing into the USB ports and plugs, uninstall/reinstall, everything as far as I know. I also can't contact Creative Labs because they have some bupkis deal where you can only call free for the first 90 days of owning your product, and then they charge a monthly fee to use the service or something like that. Anyone got any suggestions?
At least my router situation seems to be under control.
