Today's Nintendo Direct webcast provided updates on upcoming Wii U games, including
Super Mario 3D World,
Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze, and
Mario & Sonic at the Sochi 2014 Olympic Winter Games. Below, we've compiled some of the announcements from the North American, European, and Japanese Nintendo Directs. Additional information is from a press release e-mail from Nintendo Australia.
Super Mario 3D World* A new cherry power-up creates a clone of your character who automatically mimics your movements.
* Launch dates were announced for Japan (November 21), Europe (November 29), and Australia (November 30). A November 22 release date for North America was announced back in August.
Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze* Originally set for release in December,
Tropical Freeze is now scheduled for February 2014 in North America, and early 2014 in Europe and Australia. Nintendo President Satoru Iwata explained that more development time is needed "in order to deliver the optimum gaming experience."
Mario & Sonic at the 2014 Olympic Winter Games* The game will have an online mode with worldwide rankings by country.
* In North America, there will also be a Wii Remote Plus bundle version available at launch.

Mario & Sonic will release in North America on November 15, in Europe on November 8, in Australia on November 9, and in Japan on December 5.
