Video Game Chat / Re: N64 Controller Order
« on: November 02, 2014, 12:51:30 PM »
Ah, N64 controllers.  I've had more controllers for the N64 than any other system.  I recall a Super Pad 64, Super Pad 64 Plus, A PS2 looking thing, an SNES with added joystick, and some N64 styled controller with only the middle handle.  I also had a clear, clear purple, smoke, and yellow N64 controller.

Although the official N64 controllers stick was always wearing out (I didn't even play Mario Party or Smash Bros.), I still think it was the best.

I even went to the extreme of buying an iQue.  While I feel it is the best "N64" controller, I don't think it fits your question.

I don't think it was 6 simply because we weren't playing together.  When I said "with my father' I meant watching him play and explaining basic mechanics.  If I recall correctly it may have been called II or III on SNES.  We also played Chrono Trigger and some other Square games (something with Quest in the title?) that weren't FF so I may be confused on the series.  We also played at least one Mana game.  Man, those were about 3 decades ago.  Good memories.  Now he mostly plays slot simulators and occasional match 3 games (he was really into Plant vs Zombies though).

CHRONO TRIGGER, but I voted for X.

Also, there was one I recall enjoying a lot with my father on the SNES, but I don't recall which one it was.

I don't know what that post meant but the list of people who could pull off HTML tricks of that magnitude was pretty short.
It wasn't me, and I don't think it was technically an HTML trick.  Back then a lot of classic gaming and game spy sites shared the same forum structure so it was pretty easy to post from one site to another.  Some sites allowed html.  Others allowed guests.

I made some similar posts, but most were hidden and few people knew about them.  Here's an old list:  http://themushroomkingdom.net/board/index.php?topic=3352.msg314175#msg314175

I think it would have done fairly well if they'd spent a little more on three colors.

I don't recall my first YouTube video, but I know I watched animations like Badger, badger, badger and Homestar Runner way before YouTube.  I also remember using Realplayer and Quicktime formats before YouTube.

There are some interesting maps and information at Gizmodo regarding internet speeds, income, and population that may hep decide Google Fiber's next city.

Edit:  Corrected Fubar -> Fiber.  That's a whole other possibly NSFW discussion.

General Chat / Re: That carnivorous animal in your living room...
« on: July 21, 2014, 05:33:59 AM »
I have a true carnivorous animal that does not bark.  AKA a cat.

Domestic dogs are more omnivorous with canine tendencies in my opinion.  I believe this is because we have selectively breed them, feed them our diet, and they had to survive through the same conditions (an ice age for example).  Specifically domestic dogs can digest grains, but their wild cousins cannot.  A small percent of domestic dogs cannot digest diary, but most tolerate it.  I haven't shared my ice cream with a wolves to test their lactose tolerance though.
