Mario Chat / Re: Villains and TMK: Regarding Peach & Kinopio
« on: July 22, 2002, 04:53:40 PM »
Dear Kinopio Toad:
Are Jews the only people that say "shalom"?  I have friends that are not Jewish and they say "shalom" all the time.  Shalom is a Hebrew word that means "peace, wholeness, completeness."  And I know some people say that Judaism and Feminism cannot go together but in modern times there are feminists from all religions:)  There are Jewish Feminists, Christian Feminists, Muslim Feminists, Hindu Feminists, Buddhist Feminists, Pagan Feminists, Atheist Feminists, and many more.  And within these there are Liberal Feminists, Radical Feminists, and Socialist Feminists.  So as you can clearly see, Feminism is not monolithic as some people make it seem.  There can be two feminists and they can agree and totally disagree with some topics.  Sorry that I went off on a tangent.  Why you don't like the word "shalom"?  Hey!  Aren't you supposed to be one of my loyal mushroom retainers?  JK! LOL!!!:)  Take care:)  Shalom!:)

Mario Chat / Re: Who Has More Power?
« on: July 21, 2002, 04:11:32 PM »
Dear Mario Fans:
I just had an epiphany the other day.  Remember when I asked "who has more power?"  Whether it was Zelda or Peach no one responded using the new powers that Peach revealed in SM RPG!  I know this is not going to beat Zelda but most of you just said that she can "hover."  But in SM RPG she has the therapy kiss, the group hug, the sleepy sheep, and the cherry bombs which inflict lots of damage.  Her therapy kiss and her group hug saved me many times when I have played the final battle with Smithy and countless other baddies.  So Peach must have some power that allows everyone near her to regain more heart points:)  And I personally wouldn't want to be near her when she throws those cherry bombs!  LOL!!!!!!  I'm glad I remembered this:)  I guess I should play SM RPG again:)  Take care:)  Shalom!

Video Game Chat / Re: When the world is ruled by Nintendo...
« on: July 21, 2002, 01:20:52 AM »
Dear Mario Maniac:
Your ideas are so original and creative:)!  I will try to give you some of my suggestions...  I like your idea of making each country a place related to Nintendo games.  For example, the USA can be TMK, Japan can be Hyrule, etc.  Maybe you can have warping pipes throughout the world so if people wanted to travel, they can warp instead of traveling through an airplane:)  Also, all the heroines and heroes of the Nintendo games, would make sure that the world is kept safe.  The villains will be in prison but they will always be escaping (or you can come up with how you want the villains to interact with society).  Moreover, the triforce, the star rod, and all other powerful relics or objects should be kept under safe watch, because one never knows what crazed villain will come up with next!  LOL!:)  People should be allowed to make wishes:)  And of course Mario will be the president of the USA (sorry TMK) and maybe he and Peach can get married (or whatever you want to write about).  This is YOUR story and I like it.  Keep up the good work:)  When you are done please let me read it:)  Thanks:)  Shalom!:)

General Chat / Re: You People Are the Best!:)

Dear Mario Maniac:
Thanks for the comment but I'm not sure if you know me or not or vice-versa...  I hope what you said is a compliment:)  Do you have friends in highschool who are feminist, vegetarian, philosophical, and who are Mario fans?  Also do some of your friends have the same writing style as me?  Sorry to ask so many questions...  Take care,  Shalom!

Mario Chat / Re: Are the Seven Stars a Metaphor for Divine Power?
« on: July 19, 2002, 10:48:33 AM »
Dear smb allstars master:  Thanks for providing the quotes.  I knew that the goddesses:  Din, Farore, and (I forgot the other one's name:(, had something to do with the triforce.  I was wondering if maybe the star man is part of the place where the seven stars come from.  I mean it gives whoever touches it invicibility for a few seconds.

I like your answers:)  Thanks for sheding light on the topic.  SMB AllStars you don't offend me.  You seem nice:)  I hope I get more replies.  I was just wondering if there is an actual "triforce" in TMK?  Or at least something that can be similar to it?  Thanks:)  Shalom!

When Super Mario World came out my cousin and I tried finding exotic leaves so we can transform into Super Mario.  Then he would put a yellow cape around his neck and we pretended to fly:)  I guess when one is young one does tend to imagine a lot:)  Shalom!

Dear Pyrasaur:
Your theory sounds cool!  LOL!!!!!!
I have never thought about it that way.  Thanks for giving me something new to think about:)  LOL!!!  Shalom!

Okay I give up.  Zelda has more power.  But this is a Mario site so we have to give a little more credit to Peach:)  LOL!!!!!!!!
I guess since Zelda has the triforce with her she has the power of the three goddesses.  Whereas, Peach might have some divine power to, I guess she will show it when the time comes.  What ever happened to the ending in Super Mario 64?  Didn't she float like an angel?  All that gold/yellow light surrounding her (there had to be some mystical power that surrounds her).  It may not be as powerful as Zelda's triforce but it is powerful nonetheless.  Ok, Zelda has more power (I like both:))  Shalom!

Mario Chat / Re: Smithy Comeback???
« on: July 17, 2002, 08:38:37 PM »
I know that Bowser is the bad creature behind the Paper Mario plot.  I was just wondering why didn't they make it Smithy?  I now know.  I guess sometimes what one reads, has to take it as a rumor.  Nintendo Power is the "authority" in the Nintendo world but they also make mistakes.  So I guess this was one of them.  Shalom!

« on: July 17, 2002, 08:20:50 PM »
Dear Frostbite:  I agree with others, it's true that rescuing the Peach made Mario famous so what can I do?  I like playing the games so I can't complain.  And maybe Mario and Peach may someday marry... who knows.  Of course it will be a traditional marriage.  I don't mind saving Peach for a seventh time.  It seems that rescuing a damsel in distress is Mario's trademark.  Of course I know he saves other people.  But I wonder when their relationship will be made more explicit?  Maybe it will always remain ambiguous....  The gaming world may never know.  Peace to all!:)

Dear WanWan I agree with some of your points.  I would like to go on and on about feminism in general but this is a Mario site and I will probably get kicked out if I go of on a philosophical tangent.  If you want to talk about feminism (and this goes to anybody else) please e-mail me.  Thanks:)  Peace to all!:)

But remember that in the original Super Mario Brothers, Mario had to rescue Peach in order for her to use her powers to break Bowesers' black magic which turned the citizens of TMK into bricks and stone.  So Peach does have power to break curses and evils that Bowser thrusts upon TMK.  This is all in the instruction booklet.  Peace out!

Frostbite I read this in Nintendo Power magazine so if you want to call someone an idiot call Nintendo Power Magazine an idiot.  Simmer down.  Life's too short to get so worked up over a simple question.

Thanks for supporting me:)  Yeah I guess Peach is too psychologically brained-washed by society to be a "girl".  But I'm sure one day she will wake up and break from her unknown oppression.  It's true that not all women are strong and not all men are strong.  But if we unite we can destroy the oppression that is reflected in videogames as well.  Feminism is meant to LIBERATE everyone not just women.  And whoever said that "feminists just want to be like men" must be smoking some serious mushrooms!  LOL!!!!!  Peace out!
