To promote the eShop, Nintendo of America is offering a free download of Donkey Kong: Original Edition to Club Nintendo members who download Paper Mario™: Sticker Star, Style Savvy™: Trendsetters, Crosswords Plus, Art Academy™: Lessons for Everyone!, or Professor Layton and the Miracle Mask™ before January 6th 2013. This special edition of Donkey Kong, which seems to be the same as the one that was preinstalled on special edition Mario 25th Anniversary Wiis in Europe in 2010, includes the "Pie Factory" level from the arcade version that was removed from the NES port due to space limitations, but does not include most of the other elements that were left out or modified in the NES port -- so if you're looking for an arcade-perfect port, Donkey Kong 64 is still the only one.

Paper Mario comes out 11/11. If you can't wait until then, Art Academy and Crosswords Plus are available right now in the eShop for $29.99 each. Professor Layton comes out 10/28, in case you were wondering.

Came here to post this, but CrossEyed7 did a much better job than I had planned.

I'm really busy right now, but plan to get Crosswords Plus, Professor Layton and the Miracle Mask, and Paper Mario Sticker Star eventually.

I got NSMB2 as a download and keep Mairo 3D Land in the cart slot.  This has been a happy arrangement so I can easily see the advantage of having DLC for portable gaming.  My wife is having back surgery soon so I've been in and out of the ER, doctors offices, pharmacy, etc. while towing my six-year-old and my DLC on the 3DS has been a welcome distraction for her without the fear of losing a cart.  (I recently found a LeapPad cart in the couch and a DS cart in between the car seats.  Over the summer my father mailed me some DS stuff that was lost last Xmas.)

I'll definitely download something for this; my brother expressed a slight interest in Professor Layton so that might be how I break into this deal since I already have a reserve card for Paper Mario with Target.
I'm a horrible person.
