Mario Chat / News Flash!! SquareSoft's Return Is Bad News!!
« on: March 09, 2002, 04:32:07 PM »
I just recently found out that this news isn't all it's crack up to be.

It seems as though one of the "exclusive" titles SquareSoft will be bringing us is a video game version of their anime show, Final Fantasy Unlimited.

Why is this bad news, you ask? This is main three reason.

1.Their anime show isn't exactly getting good ratings for particular reasons that I'm sure you Mario fans can figure out.

2.You know how everybody is getting all excited about Resident Evil because it is exclusive to GameCube now? This is probably a tactic by SquareSoft to get millions of people to buy their new video game. They probably do a much better remake of the game on the Playstation 3.

3.Sony owns about 20% of SquareSoft. So if millions of people buy Final Fantasy Unlimited, then not only will Square get millions of dollars, but so will Sony.

So what this basically means is, SQUARE IS JUST USING NINTENDO FANS MONEY TO MAKE NEW AND BETTER GAMES FOR SONY'S SYSTEMS!!!

And you know what the really bad part of this is? Square is not even really making this game. One of their affiliate(The ones who created Legend of Mana and SaGa), will be. And as history have shown, they are not as good as SquareSoft at making RPGs.

But that's not all, folks! For years, Nintendo fans have been whining about how Yamauchi should retired because he keeps making stupid decisions(Even though he doesn't!), and now when he finally gave in and let Square make games for them, they are calling him a genius!

Yet, in reality, this is an incredibly stupid move. Because Yamauchi's new program is funding Square's affiliate, and what that means is, SQUARE WON'T LOSE A DIME IF FINAL FANTASY UNLIMITED FLOPS! As a matter of fact, they will be gaining money, and so will Sony.

But that's not the end! SquareSoft will be making ports of their past popular games! This means Chrono Trigger, Secret of Mana, and more for the GameBoy Advance!!

And after they make a couple of millions from the ports, they will make some new Final Fantasies and maybe even a new series for the Playstation 3!

Oh, and did you know that SquareSoft plans to make Final Fantasy Unlimited their new series? Guess who's going to have that franchise exclusively when all of the new systems comes out!

As a matter of fact, I'll even give you a hint. The system begins with a P and rhymes with Glaystation!

The End.

Mario Chat / Sony Lost Their #1 Reason For Having A PS2!
« on: March 08, 2002, 09:29:02 PM »
I got this article from a GameSpot! Sony can no longer boast that Final Fantasy is exclusive to their system!

"Square and Nintendo reach an agreement that will bring Final Fantasy back to Nintendo's platforms after a five-year absence.

According to the Saturday edition of the Nihon Keizai Shimbun, Square and Nintendo have reached an agreement that will bring Final Fantasy games to the GameCube and Game Boy Advance platforms. Under the agreement, Nintendo has confirmed that president Hiroshi Yamauchi will allocate money from Fund Q--a fund Yamauchi set up in January to help encourage software development--to a new Square-affiliated development house. In return, Square will establish the new development house with help from Akitoshi Kawazu, a director from the Final Fantasy development team, by the end of this month.
The Square affiliate is expected to release games for both the GameCube and Game Boy Advance before the end of the year. Square properties other than Final Fantasy were not mentioned in the report."

Personally, I don't really care about Final Fantasy anymore. I just want them to remake Final Fantasy 7 for The GameCube and then remake Final Fantasy 5 for the GameBoy Advance, and I'll be happy.

It's really too bad, I probably would have remain a Final Fantasy fan if they had given much more exposer to me during the N64 days, because I just starting playing and getting addicted to the SNES Final Fantasies after I play Final Fantasy 4. Now I'm not even interested in the series anymore, I take Mario over Final Fantasy anyday.

How about you people? How do you feel about the Final Fantasy series coming back to Nintendo platforms?

Mario Chat / Some Nintendo Fans Are CRAZY!!
« on: March 07, 2002, 11:02:07 PM »
Today, I went to another website, and into its Gamecube forum.

Then when I went into an interesting topic. Some kid started saying what Nintendo should do to become number one again. I found his post to be amusing, but one of the things he said was crazy!!

He said that he wanted Nintendo to fire Shigeru Miyamoto!!

He also stated that Shigeru Miyamoto is the reason why Nintendo has the 'kiddy' image! Even though we all know that Pokemon is the real reason! And Gumpei Yokoi(The creator of GameBoy) is the creator of Pokemon!

Can you believe that he is a Nintendo fan, but he actually hates the man who created Mario, Zelda, and all of those other great Nintendo games?!!

How can you be a Nintendo fan and hate Shigeru Miyamoto??!!!

Forum Games / Mario and Link Plays the XBox and PS2(Humor)
« on: March 06, 2002, 07:12:52 PM »
The lights turn on and the audience(Which consist of all the people on TMK) began clapping loudly.

Deezer:Hello everyone! Today, we are about to let Mario and Link play their company's rival system and rate it!

TMK Audience:Yay!

Mario comes out.

TMK Audience:Hurray!!! Mario!! Mario!! Mario!!

Deezer:And here's Link!

10-year-old Link comes out.

TMK Audience:Yay!!! Link! Link!! Link!!

Deezer:Now, Link will be playing Halo and Dear Or Alive 3 for the Xbox, while Mario will plays Metal Gear Solid and Final Fantasy X for the PS2. Anything to say before you go to play, boys?

Mario:Mamma mia!

Deezer:Okay...How about you, Link?

Link:Saria is cuter than Zelda!

Deezer:...........?

Link:And Cermia is cuter than Romani!

Deezer:Let's stop here, okay? Anyway, just go in and play.

Mario and Link steps into a large building with the words "The Mushroom Kingdom" written on it.

Deezer:Now let's wait for them!

TMK Audience:Yay!!!

::10 hours later::

Mario steps out and looks at Deezer, who just happens to be playing Super Smash Brothers Melee with the TMK people.

Deezer:C'mon Samus!! You can do it!

Member:Um, Deezer? Mario is here.

Deezer:What?! But I'm about to to win!.......*Sigh* Alright.

Deezer tearily pulls away from the game, and the three other people he was fighting with quickly smash his character and started fighting each other.

Deezer:Alright, Mario, how was the PS2.

Mario:It sucked!

Deezer:And why is that?

Mario:Final Fantasy X didn't have any mushrooms or flowers in it! Where's the fun in THAT? And why can't the people jump? There is no fun in games where people can't jump. And what is up with getting into a battle every couple of seconds? That was annoying! And why are there so many FMV? The story combined with all the FMVs reminded me of Titanic, which sucked! And the main character, Titus, reminds me of a hippie after he smoke a ton of pot!

Deezer:What about Metal Gear Solid?

Mario:That suck too! It had no jumping, no mushrooms, and no flowers either! It had nothing! Solid Snake reminds me of the typical action hero. Completely cool, and always get really cool people on his side. He also get many women too. Typical.

Deezer:Alright then. It has been decided, PS2 sucks!

The TMK Audience was too busy playing SSB:M to cheer.

Deezer:Where's Link?

Deezer goes to the XBox room with Mario.

Mario:He's sleeping?

Deezer:Geez, the XBox is bigger than he is!

Link:Malon has a cute butt.

Deezer and Mario:.....................?

The TMK Audience was still playing SSB:M when the curtains close.

The End

Mario Chat / What If There Was A RPG Super Mario?
« on: March 06, 2002, 06:39:08 PM »
No, I don't mean Super Mario RPG for the Super Nintendo.

I mean, a GameCube Super Mario with Zelda-like gameplay, Mario-like action, and an RPG-like story.

And with the GameCube's power, this would mean that the Mushroom Kingdom or whatever place Mario is in would be super hugh! Mario can still jump on monsters and get power-ups! And the game would be much longer if the story is like an RPG!

Nintendo could make this game after they released Mario Sunshine. I know I would definitely buy it!

How would you people feel about it?

Mario Chat / How Did You Get Introduced To Mario?
« on: February 20, 2002, 05:29:00 PM »
As far as I remember, I first played the NES when I was about 4 or 5 year old. Although I can't remember what game was I playing, I ended up loving it! Then I got my own NES system, with Super Mario 3.

However, unfortunately for me, I was too stupid to realized what a great game I had, and I rarely play it. As a matter of fact, I rarely play the NES at all. The only systems I had in my entire life before I became addicted to video gaming was the GameBoy, Sega Genesis, and NES. I wanted to buy the mighty Super Nintendo, and I had it purchased for a short while, but my friend somehow convince me out of it(Hey, give me a break! I was an idiot back then!).

Then I bought the Playstation and N64. I play the Playstation for a while and like it, but if it wasn't for the N64, then I would of gone back to my idiotic state and never buy another video game for about 4 years or so. Then I played Super Mario 64, and became completely addicted. Although my incredible love of Mario came from this game, the fact that I wasn't a big fan of RPGs back then probably attributed to it. I'm a big fan of RPG now, but at the time, Super Mario 64 was the closest thing I had to an RPG.

And another thing, I am not lying! Look at my paragraph again, and tell me if there is anything that would be unlikely enough to be consider a lie. I even said that I didn't play Super Mario 3 all that much! Besides, this paragraph of my life is quite embarrashing and I appreciate it if you don't laugh at me now.

Mario Chat / Which Game Is More Violent? Thrill Kill Or Grand Theft Auto 3?
« on: February 10, 2002, 05:06:35 PM »
While both game has an enormous amount of blood in it, and should NEVER be play be children or people with impressionable mind, I believe Grand Theft Auto 3 is more violent.

Why? Because Grand Theft Auto 3 has an extreme realism that is rarely found in any video game today. The game is so realistic, that you could easily learn how to become a true criminal just by playing it alone.

Thrill Kill may have a tone of more blood than Grand Theft Auto 3, but Thrill Kill doesn't have the realism to back it up.

Which do you think is more violent? Thrill Kill or Grand Theft Auto 3? Or do you have your own game to name?

P.S. I would have put this in the non-Mario place, but practically nobody goes there!

Mario Chat / Who Do You Hate More? Sony Or Microsoft?
« on: February 10, 2002, 04:45:24 PM »
Captain Nintendo:I choose Microsoft because Bill Gates is a puny little wimp with a voice that sounds like Kermit The Frog!!!!
Long live Nintendo!!

Me:I choose Microsoft. But unlike what my Captain said, I hate them mainly because their program just single-handedly screw up my computer recently. And its a small program too! If you like to know which program, then the answer is Microsoft Word 6.0!And now, I don't know how to fix it. Who do you people hate more?

Captain Nintendo:You better choose Microsoft!!!!

Forum Games / Celebrity Jeopardy!
« on: February 09, 2002, 05:52:39 PM »
Disclaimer:I don't won anything mentioned in this story, except maybe for Bonkey Dong.

The stage opens up with Alex Trebek standing in front of three strange looking people.

After a moment, he silence the clapping audience and began to address the contestants.

Alex:Hello everyone! Today, we have a VERY special episode of Celebrity Jeopardy! Our contestants are the mascots of two VERY famous video game company and the newcomer who has been famous in computers for years!

The camera made a close-up on the contestants.

Alex:First, we have the mascot from the newcomer. Actually, we DON'T have a mascot. Dues to the fact that Microsoft just came in the video game business, they don't have any first-party games. So, we are satisfied with bringing in the boss himself, Bill Gates.

The camer zooms in on Bill Gates.

Bill:Kids! Nintendo are for little cry-babies! Buy the mature XBox!

Alex:Next, we have the newest mascot from Sony! His name is.....uh....Bonkey Dong?

The camera zoomz in on Big Foot.

Bonkey:Hey! I am Sony's new mascot! Buy a Playstation 3 and you can play me! Remember, I am exclusive to Sony!

Alex:Um, the Playstation 3? But didn't the Playstation 2 only came out a year and two months ago?

Bonkey:So?

Alex:Um, anyway, we now have the mascot from Nintendo! He is the italian from Brooklyn, New York! He is Mario!

Super Mario appear out of the backstage with Yoshi. Then he ride Yoshi to his stand, and just stood still.

Alex:Are you going to do anything about that dinasaur? Or that big yellow cape?

Mario:What is wrong with Yoshi?

Alex:He is a dinosaur.

Mario:So?

Alex:Okay then, what about your enormous cape? It is flying towards your opponent's face and bothering him.

Mario look to his left, then his face brighten up.

Mario:Donkey Kong! My friend! I didn't know you would be here! I thought one of Sony's mascots would come!

Bonkey:Controll your cape, you fat freak!

Mario:Huh?

Alex:Mario, that is not Donkey Kong. That is Bonkey Dong, and he IS one of Sony's mascot.

Mario:Oh.

Alex:Anyway, let's start now. For our categories, we have....

A large screen brightens up to show six categories.

Alex:Game Manias, Famous Mascots, Name The Pokemon, What SquareSoft is Obsessed With, Who Will Link Marry, and How Many Final Fantasies Will Be Made. Mario, since you've been around the longest, you go first.

Bonkey:What?! Fat man goes first?!

Mario(Ignoring Bonkey's comment):Um, Famous Mascots for $500.

Alex:Who is Sony's most famous mascot?

Bonkey buzzed in.

Bonkey:Me!

Alex:I'm sorry, but that is incorrect.

Bonkey:What?!

Mario buzzed in.

Mario:Um, Crash Bandicoot?

Alex:Correct. Mario, you go again.

Mario:How Many Final Fantasies Will Be Made for $500.

Alex:How many Final Fantasies will be made before SquareSoft run out of ideas?

Bonkey buzzed in.

Bonkey Dong:None, because SquareSoft will NEVER run out of ideas as long as they work for Sony!

Alex:I'm sorry, but that is wrong.

Bonkey:Whaaaaattttt?!

Bill Gates buzzed in.

Bill:25?

Alex:Incorrect.

Alex waited a moment. The buzzer goes off.

Alex:I'm sorry, but the answer is never. SquareSoft will never run out of ideas because they will reused old ideas in new ways so people will think it is new. Mario, you go again.

Bonkey:Fat boy goes AGAIN?!

Mario(Ignoring Bonkey's comment again):Game Manias oe $500.

Alex:Which game had the biggest and longest running fad in history?

Bonkey buzzed in.

Bonkey:Crash Bandicoot!

Alex:I'm sorry, but that is incorrect.

Bonkey:Is this game fixed?!

Bill Gates buzzed in.

Bill:Pokemon!

Alex:Close but incorrect.

Bill:I think this game IS fixed!

Mario buzzed in.

Mario:Um, Pac-man?

Alex:Correct! Although study shows that children knew Mario even better than Bugs Bunny or Mickey Mouse. During its time, Pac-man was just a tiny bit more popular than Pokemon and it had a much longer running time.

Bonkey:Now I KNOW this game is fixed!! You must of gave all the correct answers to the pasta idiot and his ugly dinosaur before the game!

Mario only stick his tongue out at Bonkey, but Yoshi began to get mad.

Bonkey:Oh, is the tiny little green freak getting angry?

Alex:Now everybody, calm down!

Bill Gates just watch as everything unfolds and the audience began leaving one by one.

Then out of nowhere, Yoshi shot his tongue out and began devouring Bonkey Dong.

Bonkey:Ahhhhh!!!! Oh my Sony!! He's eating me alive!! Oh, for the love of Sony, somebody help me!!!!!!!!

Those were Bonkey Dong's last words as he got swallow whole by Yoshi. By now, Alex and Bill is in shock while the audience began running out by the dozens.

Alex:Oh my God! He ate Bonkey Dong!

Then Yoshi look at Bill Gates menacingly.

Bill:Now, wait a minute! I never said.....

But Bill Gates never finished, because Yoshi opne his mouth and spit out fie at him. Bill Gates was set on fire and he began running around frantically.

Bill:Somebody help me! Please! I'll give you a million dollars! Ughhhhhhhh......

Then Bill fell down and died a miserable death.

Then Yoshi look at Alex.

Alex:No, wait!

But that was all Alex said as he got devour by Yoshi. This time, Yoshi actually swallow instead of turning the corpse into fire.

Mario, throughout all the choas, just stood still on Yoshi. It was clear that he is completely shock.

Then Yoshi ran out the building and into the woods, never to be seen again.

Mario never came back to the Mushroom Kingdom, but people reported seening a man with a cape riding a small dinosaur in the woods sometimes......

The End.

Yup, folks. If you need to know anything in a Zelda game for the N64, then ask me! And I'll guaranteed I'll find the answer in one day or less.

Don't ask me anything on the Zelda before, though, because I don't know much about them.

You can also ask me some things about Zelda for the GameCube, but not things that are impossible to know, like 'How does it play?' or 'What will it look like in the end?'.

Mario Chat / Why Is Sony Copying Nintendo's Franchises?
« on: February 06, 2002, 03:56:53 PM »
Probably one of the greatest examples I can give of this is Spyro.

Now, when I first play this game, I've became addicted to it. I absolutely love it! And I couldn't understand why. I have never love any of the titles on the Playstation THAT much.

Then I found out. Spyro is a rip-off of Super Mario 64!

Now, let's contrast Mario 64 to the newest Spyro game that I have played, Spyro:Year of the Dragon.
-------------------------
Super Mario 64 = You have to find stars in every level.

Spyro = You have to find eggs or some other things.

Super Mario 64 = You get to go into many different levels. And you can go back to them if you like.

Spyro = You get to go into many different levels. And you can go back to them if you like.

Super Mario 64 = You are require to play little fun mini-games to get stars.

Spyro = You are require to play little fun mini-games to get stars.

Super Mario 64 = Very easy on most of the levels, but kind of difficult on some.

Spyro = Very easy on most of the levels, but kind of difficult on some.
-------------------------

See what I mean?! Now, I only contrast Spyro:Year of the Dragon, but all of the Spyro games have pretty much the same type og gameplay!

And now they're trying to copy Zelda with some BS game called Dark Cloud?

Now that is seriously messed up! The least they could of do was change it more! One of the houses in Dark Cloud looks almost exactly like Link's house from Zelda 64!

What's next? Super Smash Brothers or Metroid? Or did they copy them already?

Mario Chat / Super Mario 3 Question
« on: February 04, 2002, 08:40:12 PM »
Will there be a Super Mario 3 for GameBoy Advance? I'm sorry to bother you with this, but I'm a big Mario fan, and I never truly played the most popular Mario game ever!

I used to have an NES with this game, but I only play it for about 3 days, then stop completely. Hey, give me a break, I never really became interested in video gaming until the days of the Nintendo 64 and Playstation.

After playing Super Mario 64 over and over again, I realize how much I love this game, and it gave me nostalgia of older Mario games. So for the last couple of days, I started playing the older Mario games.

First, I played Super Mario, then Super Mario World. And I'm thinking of playing Super Mario 2 also right now. However, no matter how hard I tried, I can't find Super Mario 3.

So I bought a GameBoy Advance on February 4. I wanted to buy Super Mario Advance, but I couldn't find it, so I bought Mortal Kombat Advance instead.

That's not the point, though. I've noticed that alot of old Mario games are being remade on the GameBoy Advance. Like Super Mario, Super Mario 2, and Super Mario World for example, but I don't know if Super Mario 3 is being remade or not.

Can you tell me if it is being remade or not? And if it is, can you tell when it will come out? I'm beginning to get desperate for this game.
