I USED TO. I started my subscription at issue 50 (I also have Issue 37). I stopped getting it at issue roughly 140, as I started to realize I was disliking the mag's layout more and more.

They did away with the comics. Then They did away with that manila thing. Then they did away with the 0-10 rating system, changing to an inprecise 5 star system (both games rated 8.6 and 9.4 would therefore get the same rating, 4.5 stars) and now they give way too many games 4's and 4.5's. I had given it an 8 or 9 at issue 100 or so, as that was when i liked it the most, but now it has overly-special-featured itself down to a 4 or 5 now, so I subscribe to EGM now.

And what happened to Expert Gamer? That was, at one time, the best mag ever, then they changed to GameNOW after 38 issues (and i have all of them except that one they forgot to send me... D'oh!) Now, the format of GameNOW is too disorganized, as the ratings systems is done by only 1 person, with the school grading system (Expert Gamer never even rated games) and that is a flawed system... I miss Expert Gamer... oh well, I am content with EGM for now...

Mario Chat / Re: Worsest Mario game ever!!?!??!?!?!?!?!?!?!?
« on: April 04, 2002, 09:12:02 PM »
Mario is Missing is the only game I have ever returned due to "badness". I beat it in 2 days when i was about 7 (when did that game come out?)

SMB2 is ok, but Tetris Attack RULES!!!!!
Yes, it was taken from a Japanese game called Paneru de Pon, and I wouldn't be caught dead playing it, as I am not really into "girly games". This is the only game i would avoid up to today due to graphics alone. Sticking the Yoshi's Island characters into the addicting puzzle game was a great decision on Nintendo's part.... And adding Pokemon got the younger people playing it, but i don't see why the Yoshi's Island characters won't do the job as well...

Anyway, take it from someone who can beat Very hard mode without losing even once 70-80% of the time, even after not having played it for about a year (it isn't as hard as you think, Bowser on Very Hard normally throws a x9 or so chain at you, but he leaves one column perilously stacked really high, so even a x4 or x5 chain stacks him to the top, and if you play with the BALL code activated, you easily win in roughly 10-20 seconds. If you let the match drag on for more than 1 minute though, you are generally sunk.): it is a great game! get it. Trust me, the ending is nothing special, but beat hard or very hard without losing and using the same non-Yoshi character for all 4 fights in the Cave of Wickedness and the ending will change slightly... I use Gargantua Blargg for some reason... the ARRRRGH noise he makes is really cool, in my opinion.

SUMMARY OF THIS UNECCESARILY LONG POST: Mario Is Missing is the "worsest" (sorry) Mario game, and any of you who hate on Tetris Attack are hating on my favorite game of all time. yes, it is my favorite game of all time. You may not think so, but I do.

1. If you have a Super Nintendo, and Like the original Super Mario World, get this game! PS: it's ok, I have a tendency to get like that when someone messes with me. (translation: I can't take a joke under certain circumstances) Sorry if I offended you at all.

2. Bout time someone realizes how hard straight 100's are..... Extra 5 was the hardest though, and of the normal levels, 6-5 is my worst. there is this one spot where you gotta like a Chomp rock over a lava pool to get to a door and I could never do that right... I got lucky the time i did do it...

Ahem. Sorry, got sidetracked, and another general tip:
There is an easy way to beat Naval Piranha (3-8 boss) with one egg: go to the boss chamber, and stand on the platform so that you are only standing on the FIRST circle, any farther and you'll trigger the boss battle animation, which is what you DON'T want to do. hit the Piranha Bud with an egg for an easy win! (check Kamek's reaction...) This is useful if you can't seem to win without getting hit and need the 100, as it is impossible to get hit in the battle if you do this right....)

Hold Select on the map screen, and press X,X,Y,B,A for another (pleasant) surprise!

Yes, Mario World was an awesome game, and I liked the sequel A LOT, but still, it would be nice to have another game like the original SMW.

PS: I can beat that game in half an hour: take this route.
Yoshi's Island 2, Yoshi's Island 3, Yoshi's Island 4, #1 Iggy's Castle, Donut Plains 1, Donut Secret 1, Donut Secret House, Star World 1, Star World 2, Star World 3, Star World 4, Front Door. Boom! 12 levels.

another PS: My opinion; Tubular is BY FAR the hardest level in Super Mario World. I always have to do it the cheapo way (i.e., get a blue Yoshi and a feather, and go all the way to that spot with those paratroopas, eat one, and fly like a/an <insert noun of choice here> the P-balloon thing is messed up.

ok, that is all for now.

1. Do you even have Yoshi's Island?
2. If you do tell me what levels you DON'T have 100's on in world 3, and I can tell you how. (oh yea, Extra 3 is really hard, i think it is the second hardest level to 100, behind Extra 5)
3. Anyone who DOES have extra 3 opened, try and find them all to prove me right! I counted them, and recounted them, and there are still 21.

Thanks! (?)

Hey, the day after Christmas, I was robbed at a swim meet, and lost my game boy color with Tetris DX cartridge, with 2 games over 1,000,000 points!!!! and, among other things my $300 glasses. I lost over $500-600 dollars.

Twice in one year though, Man, that's a tough break.

Ok, that explains something....

Sorry if I annoyed you, so now therefore the old adage "Yoshies come in a rainbow of colors" is therefore false, as without an Orange Yoshi, you don't technically have a rainbow. Carry on.

Fine fine fine fine fine... no more complex math.... geez... It's nice to see that ppl like me and CashCrazed can do math... thus disproving the fact that playing video games makes you dumb... :)

(i.e., three syllables of a 5 syllable word, or 3 letters of a 5 letter word... you pick)
