Reviving old posts for no reason is a dumb idea. Reviving old posts when you have something to say is a good idea... It should be done more often!

My nickname isn't even in a Mario game! I am not even Insane... but my name really is Steve. hey, 1 out of 3 ain't bad...

If he wants to twist his nickname a little, this his choice.

And, I have claimed the job of "professional cynic" of these forums from here on... The job of a professional cynic is to be perfectly blunt to a blantantly dumb or wrong comment (what i say depends on what kind of mood i am in), often in a bittingly witty way...

ok, maybe they aren't "shallow", but i find myself not talking about video games that much at my school because my tastes are very different than the norm (I really like Tetris Attack. This game is a nightmare for ppl with an ersatz macho image to keep up! Oh well, the game it was derived from, Paneru de Pon, was even less "tough" Some people can say the graphics are for little girls even...)

Point is, I don't care as much about graphics as I do fun value.

Well, I never buy games just for the graphics... that is too shallow. Unfortanatly, that is the type of gamer that dominates our school....

PROFILE OF THIS KIND OF GAMER:
liked genres: 1st person shooter, sports game, anything with cool graphics, any games they used to play when they were 8
hated genres: anything else.
Reaction to ppl who like the same games: I can kick your --- at *game*
Reaction to ppl who like a game they hate: You are gay, and stupid! You <insert inappropriate invectives here>, then he spreads rumors about that person

I liked Paper Mario.

Problem is, every one at my school thinks it is stupid althogh they have never played it, just cause of the graphics. They have this ersatz "all new games that aren't first person shooters or sports games are for pansies" image. However, they seem to like the old-school Mario games (most of them), although they aren't first person shooters or sports games.... They keep up a fake image way too often..... They need to admit they like more game types and actually TRY Paper Mario before they slam it.

(Bottom line, I like Paper Mario, but most ppl at my school are afraid to play it due to the graphics, and slam it because of this)

I did not say the Zelda game would be BAD due to the graphics, It is just that all the shallow people that buy games because "the graphics <look cool>" Won't buy it, even though they bought the other N64 Zelda games, because "the graphics <are stupid>"

(note, the <blah> things are not what they'd really say, but a euphenism for something leess appropriate)

I dunno, but they really should make a Legend of Zelda port.

PS: I think that when SMA4 is made, it needs a World 7 for those people *points at himself* who can get 100's on every level including the extra ones. AND FIX THE 21 RED COIN THING IN EXTRA 3! I don't think that the red coin in the post under the rotating purple platform (the 10th one) is needed *wink wink*

as for SMA3, I thought Super Mario Bros. 3 was the best chioce for SMA1, but they chose Super Mario Bros. 2, a VERY unoriginal (ever heard of Doki Doki Panic?), very rushed (in my opinion) game? It should be cool, though, I think.
