I'd like to list my favorite Mario Kart games, from most extremely best to least extremely best.
At the top, i'd like to wait for the next Mario Kart incarnation, Mario Kart for Wii (no specific subtitle for that one... for now, at least). I'm sure it'll top the other Mario Kart games. I mean, each one keeps topping the previous Mario Kart games, so i'm sure we'll see some neat stuff in this one. I can't wait for it. So, basically, Mario Kart Wii is my highest favorite of them all.
Second best, i would go with Mario Kart DS. With all of the extra karts and all of the cups' tracks, this is one of the coolest Mario Kart game that I've played since i got interested in this franchise. Although it was the second portable Mario Kart game overall, it was a whole lot better than Super Circuit. This Mario Kart game is my second favorite.
In third, it's basically Mario Kart: Double Dash!! This Mario Kart is a rare treat, as two characters hops on a same kart. Something that no other Mario Kart had done and hasn't been done again since. And with more characters than you can shake a Koopa shell at, this is definitely one of the most sweetest Mario Kart game that i've played among them all. Of course, it would get better with future installments, but it's my third best Mario Kart game.
Now, as we continue to go down to the least favorite, we now go to the least best, dropping down to the totally uncool Mario Kart game. And i'm not talking about Super Mario Kart, the one that started it all. That one was quite cool. But over time, the first game pales in comparison to the greater Mario Kart games in later years. At least, however, this one's in fourth place, because we cannot forget where the whole Mario Kart saga had begun, right?
Fifth place is Mario Kart 64. Now, we go 3-D for this one and they were a bit better than the first game. However, today's Mario Kart games were a lot better than this Mario Kart game. So, this one lands in second last place.
Last place of the list of Mario Kart favorites of mine is Mario Kart: Super Circuit. This one was totally tougher and a bit unpleasant, despite the fact that it was a good Mario Kart game. But the extra modes and difficulty made it a bit impossible for me to complete. I don't mind playing the unlockables race tracks from the first game, but i couldn't complete it on 150cc mode. Of all Mario Kart games, this is the first and only Mario Kart game to which i was unable to finish all race tracks. I did beat this game, don't get me wrong. But the rest of the 150cc tracks was like next impossible for to beat.
