It's amazing what you forget after not playing a game in ages.

Things like GAMES SETTING YOUR EXTRA LIFE COUNT TO ZERO IF YOU GET TOO MANY.

There's a reason they never released this on the NES...
Let's do the Mario, all together now!

I stink at the original incarnation. I was able to complete it in both SMBDX and SMAS, though...

It's after 9, right? They must have decided they didn't want to deal with the 128 extra life problem.
Yes, it's hard, and a magnificent game.
That was a joke.

SMB was released on the NES and it had the same problem.

I've never experienced that in SMB, then again, I've never really gotten that far...
What's your problem, Cambodian?

I like the Lost Levels. I haven't played its original incarnation, though, but in SMAS it was a great challenge, and had better replay value than SMB because of the extra worlds 9-D.
We went to see them for the first time in 5 years because they were going away for 3 years.

I happen to have played Lost Levels on my Famicom Disk System.

Is there any word on whether Nintendo plans on making this a limited release for America? I really wanna download it when I get a Wii on Christmas... ;_;

Unlike Europe, it seems to be permanent here. I suspect it will come back there someday, unless NOE hates money.

Lost Levels used to haunt me in my dreams. They don't anymore, but I still can't beat it.
As a game that requires six friends, an HDTV, and skill, I can see why the majority of TMK is going to hate on it hard.

I don't think I've ever had 9 lives in the original...

Never have I heard of THIS! I knew it was tough, but that's just... lame.

So, is it out on the VC here now?

Vid, yes!

LD, great pic.  What do the extra monitor cables do?

I liked Lost Levels and like SMBj now.  It seems that either they added some things to Lost Levels or my memory isn't as clear as it used to be.  I thought there were coins at the end of 1-1, a vine in 2-1, and a few other things.  Still, the save state and continues help.

David, where'd you get so many extra lives?
