While the controversy surrounding Hot 89.9's "Win A Baby" contest has mostly run its course in Ottawa, national news sources ranging from the CBC to the Middle Eastern North Africa Financial Network are still covering the promotion as if it were announced yesterday. All in all, "Win A baby" has proven itself to be the most hotly discussed Ottawa radio gimmick since Kiss FM "banned" Carrie Underwood's music.
There don't seem to be any recent developments in the promotion itself. The baby-on-yellow-background bus-stop ads are still omnipresent throughout the city, and Hot's decision to change their Facebook profile picture to reflect the campaign makes it that much harder for it to be missed by the station's target demographic of thirtysomething-year-old women who think they're in their twenties.
