Author Topic: Proof and Pics Of The 1986 Mario Anime  (Read 6655 times)

Go to http://roryhoy.4t.com/index.html For Pics.

Since May, I have been searching like mad for a copy of the other mario Move. If I ever will find it, I bet it will be better then the dissapointing live acion one from 1993. Anyway, here is some info from the book, "The Anime Encyclopedia".

Italian Plumber Mario is playing a computer game when Princess Peach calls out begging for help. He dives in for help to save her from the evil turtle tribe aided by his loyal brother Luigi. He must head to the games Mushroom Land to seek advice from a Mushroom Sage. The Franchise also Returned as a short 3-part video anime pointlessly retelling the stories of 'Momotaro', 'Snow White' and 'Rumplestilkin' but with the cast of the Game.

All For Now.

If  you go to http://page2.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/b41269706, you will see a japanese auction of the SMB Anime Movie. If you look, you will find the same image of the film seen on the SMBHQ Mystery 10 page.

Is this the film Phantaz is talking about?

Hello,

I have been looking for this movie for some time now too.  I'm glad to see the new pictures and stuff.  I believe this is the same movie Phantaz was talking about.  Too bad I cannot seem to get in touch with him about downloading a copy :(

I spoke to Phantaz and he/she said:

"Dear Mr. Rory,

I simply wrote GREAT MISSION TO RESCUE PRINCESS PEACH on Kazaa and got a
file. I have heard though that lately it has not been on the P2p
programs, so I do not know about that. There has been a lot of confusion
about what copies of the movie I own. On BY, I got the Japanese VHS tape,
the picture sucked, it had very bad cover art, and there was English
subtitles. My second copy was off Kaza, I then put it on WINDOWS MEDIA
PLAYER and burned it to DVD. the movie man at SMBHQ was supposed to send
me money for a burned DVD copy, but, the money has not come yet. I will
sell it to anyone in the U.S.A. or Canada, and possibly Mexico, but I am
afraid UK is out of the picture. If you have anyone else who can buy it
for you I sell for $5 (It used to be $3, but deman has bright price up!)
So that is all I have to say email me back later!

Phantaz"

In the next letter, he/she said:

"I come from the U.S.A. I will try to get some screen shots, and tyhe plot
is simple, Mario rescues Princess,

Phantaz "

Well to start off, There is no version of Great mission on eBay or Kazaa. I have also tried WinMX and guess what, No Great Mission!.

The One which is on Yahoo! japan looks like an official one and I highly doubt it has subtitles.

I wonder if Phantaz is lying. Maybe or Maybe not, we will find out someday.

NOTE: A japanese friend said that the auction for the VHS has some noise during the first part of the movie so we will have to wait for one in better condition. The copy does look a bit worn anyway

Hey-

Please put me in touch with Phantaz.  I'd be willing to take my chances for $5, if it is real then it is worth it.

If not, then oh well.  If he's scamming people out of a pultry $5 then he probably needs it more then I.

I emailed Phantaz about this.  However, if anyone else finds this before I hear back from him, please let me know.  Thanks.
