So, what's the difference between Baby Bowser and Bowser Jr.? I guess to some it is obvious that Baby Bowser is the baby version of King Bowser, and that Jr. is his son. But the resemblance between the two is remarkable. It seems as if they're the same character.
Baby appeared in SMW2 and Yoshi's Story (seeming to mature a bit between those two games), then pulled a Baby Mario and time-travelled (or whatever) into Mario Party 2 and 3 (where he now has a distinctive look, with big horns, and a head of hair, instead of the pony tail).
Spoiler below maybe?
Now, I haven't played Super Mario Sunshine, but I understand that Jr. plays a role there. He looks quite like the Baby from SMW2/YS (with the pony tail), but his horns are little nubs. He reappears in Mario Party 4, looking much like Baby in the previous Mario Parties (horns, hair). And now he returns in Mario Kart Double Dash, looking like his appearance in SMS.
We have three seperate -looking Bowser babies here. One with a ponytail and no horns (SMW2, YS), one with pony tail and little horns (SMS, MKDD), and one with a full head of hair, and big horns (MP 2,3,4).
I would have no trouble believing that the Bowser Jr. in SMS is, in fact, Baby Bowser. Is this a case of Nintendo changing a character's name to fit a story (Baby Bowser becomes Bowser's son in SMS, so no confusing time-travel), or was Bowser Jr. conceived completely seperate from Baby Bowser? And what's up with the two Bowser Jr.s at the side of King Bowser in Mario Party 4? Have I gone too far?
