Video Game Chat / Metriod Fusion vs. Metriod Zero Mission
« on: August 11, 2004, 02:51:36 PM »
Which game is better?  Why?

I noticed on IGN that Fusion got a better rating, but Zero is newer and can be registered.  If you have played both please tell which you think is better and why.

Mario Chat / New Mario GameCube Controller in Japan
« on: July 28, 2004, 10:49:40 AM »
I'm too lazy right now to post a good  message for this thread like (insert forum member name here) did with the (insert forum thread title here) thread.

Instead I will simply post a link to an article about the Mario Controller that will be available for 500 points to Club Nintendo members in Japan.

Mario Chat / Mario Mario Mario
« on: July 20, 2004, 10:05:07 AM »
I am tired after my vacation and am generally lazy anyway.  So I am going to make several posts in one.

I found the blind folded pianist that warms up with Mario music at blindfoldedmariopianist2.wmv.  EDIT: IT APPEARS THEY WILL NOT LET YOU DOWNLOAD UNLESS YOU GO THROUGH ONE OF THERE PAGES.  YOU CAN GET IT FROM http://blogs.lns.kicks-ass.net/moonjihad/archives/000122.html.  It is over 10 minutes long at about 17mb and all of the music is from Mario games.

Also, at the bottom of the mailbag what Sapphira said was very funny.  Check it out at Mailbag 19 Jul 2004 Kongtroversy.

In the most recent Game Developer magazine I have got there is a long article on Shiggy.

If Deezer wants I can get some images and quotes from the article.

My brother is really into paintball and when he came over he bought an issue of Facefull (sic?).  In it there was an interview with some paintball team and it showed several pictures of them playing Super Mario Kart Double Dash.  He took the mag back with him so I can't get images now.

I recently bought Mario Golf for the GBA.  It's a great game.  I recommend it for anyone who liked any other Mario Golf game.  the RPG elements are cool, but my favorite thing is link with the GCN version to transfer players, get experience, unlock courses, and other stuff.

Where are the Super Mario Advance 4: Super Mario Bros. 3 series 3 and 4 e-Reader cards?

Does anyone have any Mario music/sound CDs they would sell me?

Video Game Chat / Game Sales Decreased w/ Exception of GameCube!!!
« on: June 24, 2004, 03:10:02 PM »
Compared to May 2003, sales have decreased by 15.9% as expected considering the lack of "hit titles" at this point of the year. May of last year included best-sellers like Enter the Matrix and NBA Street Vol. 2.

On the Playstation 2 sales fell 18.5%, on Xbox sales fell 7.7%, and on Gameboy Advance there was a drop of 23.1%. However, Gamecube had an increase in sales of 21.8%.

Overall, there was a 1% drop in revenue from last year's 1.71 Billion to this year's 1.69 Billion.

With much anticipated titles for all the consoles expected to be released this Summer and Fall, analysts predict a large increase in sales.

Mario Chat / DS Tech Demo with SMB3 like game?
« on: June 17, 2004, 09:16:26 PM »
http://www.nintendo.com/e3_2004/ds/video_ds_sizzle_tech_240.jsp

About one third of the way through to half way in the video there is what appear to be a falling Mario like in SMB3.  I think this was a tech demo so it might not be a game, but it looks cool.  Anyone have more info on it?

Bungie Denies Game Boy Halo Rumors
By David Smith
6/11/2004

Bungie Software today denied rumors of a Game Boy version of Halo, publishing a brief note to that effect on its official website. Though reports from seemingly reliable sources claimed a handheld version of the popular Xbox first-person shooter was in the works, Bungie had this to say:
"Recent internet reporting has suggested that a Game Boy version of Halo is in the works. We can officially lay that rumor to rest.

"There is no Game Boy version of Halo planned, and none in production. It's very unlikely that such a version would ever happen for all the obvious reasons, and the less obvious reasons, that the ColecoVision talks fell apart and The Bandai Pippin version is taking up all our development bandwidth…"

----

As I had thought the Halo for GBA rumor was just that.  A rumor.  But, in the tradition of making new rumors from old dispelled rumors:  They denied a Game Boy version, but not a handheld version.  Could Microsoft be secretly planning a handheld and developing a Halo game for it.  After all, Xbox would be the only major console not to have a handheld and Halo is their killer ap.

I don't like Halo or most sports games so I don't have an Xbox or plan on getting one.  I would like to play Blinx though, but that would not justify buying an anchor, ahem Xbox.

Video Game Chat / Magic Pengel DS?
« on: May 21, 2004, 11:24:08 PM »
Magic Pengel would be a great game on the DS.  I have it for PS2, but drawing with a stylus on the DS would be much better.

Magic Pengel is a single or two player game in which you draw your own 3d characters.  Your doodles then get special powers and are animated.  Your doodles can battle in arenas, and as the game's story line progresses you get more colors and parts it edit or make new doodles/characters with.  The game is made by AgeTec, the makers of RPG Maker I and II.

If you haven't played it, you can find out more at

http://www.garakuta-studio.com/en/src_index.html

or

Also check out the teaser for Magic Pengel 2 at

http://www.garakuta-studio.com/

Age Tec has develped for the Super Nintendo, Nintendo 64, and Game Boy Color.  If you like this game and know the emails, please let Age Tec and Nintendo know that they should work together again to bring Magic Pengel to the Nintendo DS.
