The first one I can remember is Spelling Jungle, the most badass spelling game ever created. So many fond memories of my old Compaq PC with this game, I was literally playing this game while in diapers, I distinctly remember pooping my pants while playing one time.

I wasn't introduced to consoles until we went to my cousins' house who had a NES, and we played SMB and Duck Hunt, and one time I went down to the basement by myself to play Duck Hunt and I was terrified of the game over screen so I hid behind the couch until someone came downstairs and found me.

One year for Christmas my brother got a "Game Boy" from grandpa. I didn't know what that meant, but I did know all of a sudden there was this grey brick thing where I could play such sweet sweet games as Donkey Kong, Tetris and F1 Racing.

One of the first ones from when I was a little older and knew a little more about real games was Day of the Tentacle. Awesome game.

From which component of rhythm games do you get that feeling? Is it from the musical aspect, where you're enjoying the actual song so much it makes the experience so special? Or is it the technical part, that you're nailing difficult rhythms through a full combo? I understand both sides, I'm curious which one's driving you more.

Oh, and then on a different run, we got to the final boss who is really hard to kill on three lives, but since I'm so pro, I still had two left when we finally beat him. LD was on his last life. The final task of the game is to jump across a chasm to grab on to a moving helicopter. I did it just fine, LD barely missed. I got the achievements for beating Arcade Mode and he didn't.

Me and LD have been playing a Contra-esque game for a while.

We've been trying to beat Arcade Mode, which is 8 straight levels of super difficult.

Right before the last level, I was dead and LD was screwing around walking really slow, so I went to the bathroom. While I was gone, LD died and the CONTINUE? 9 ... 8 ... 7 screen came up. I wasn't there to press A, so we got a game over and had to start completely over at 2 AM.
