Summary: Nintendo has shown Stage Debut at E3 for the past few years. In it, you could transfer your face onto characters in the game, and seemed somehow tied to GBA. The Stage Debut crate was shipped to E3 this year. However, David claims that Stage Debut was not shown at E3 this year. Prior to E3, Nintendo said they were going to show their new Gamecube peripheral, but they did not. Now they say they will show it soon. They've trademarked a Gamecube camera peripheral. Too many coincidences.
If this is true, this isn't exactly the groundbreaking peripheral I'd hoped for. 1. Eyetoy: it's been out for a year and shows you on screen in real time (for the game I've played). They could have it do face mapping or anything else if they wanted. 2. Game Boy Camera: this is quite old and allowed you to map your face onto Game Boy game characters. 3. Somebody's created a way to face map onto the N64 Goldeneye! Maybe they didn't show it at E3 because their other announcements were so much better. Also, I hope this peripheral doesn't die after a token 3 games like most of their other previous alternate control scheme ideas. Or maybe they've got something better in store. The problem is, they're kind of limited without a hard drive...
